Infiniti G35

I was wanting to get some input on the Infiniti G35. I'm thinking of getting one this weekend. For those that own or have ridden in one, what do you guys think?

G35 Coupe or sedan? I've spent a lot of time in the G35 Sedan, and it's nice/comfortanle inside... i don't have a single complaint... even the rear seats recline. All in all I give it a thumbs-up... can't help you with the coupe.

I comparison shopped the G35C when I was buying my car a year ago (Mazda RX-8), and it looked good, was pretty fun to drive, but the interior was full of funny shapes, a useless backseat, low quality feeling materials, and the braking/handling/steering didn't come anywhere near the RX-8. That being said, I think it's a pretty good car for the price - just so long as you can live with the typical nissan/infinity interior, you're set.

My buddy has one and with manual tranny and I can tell you it is a hell of a lot of fun to drive. If you are over 6' in height it is tough to get a comfortable seat position. That was the only downer for me. Otherwise a very fun car to drive. My buddy says the only downer for him is like the above post said cheap quality interior. Apparently his radio buttons, and other **** falls off easily. Kinda shoddy, but otherwise a great car.

I have the sedan and can tell you more if you really want. I just typed a long *** email to a buddy of mine who is thinking about getting one and I don't feel like going through all that again right now. It's a great car. Hands down.

Beautiful car on the outside, particularly the coup. Drives incredible. My only reservation about it was the interior that I thought looked very cheap. I ended up getting an Acura TL but think the G35 is a great car.

G35 or RX-8 . . . two of the best-performing "mainstream" cars in recent memory, and yet both with horrible interiors! What a choice, huh boozehound?

I've seriously considered both cars, but I just can't get past their downsides. I'm leaning towards getting another Honda S2000 next year when my Saab is paid for, and just driving our old 1993 Accord on days I have to schlep kids around. I never should have gotten rid of my first S2000.

I have a G20, which they no longer make, and get to drive the G35 when I take it in for service. I love the 35, and will probably buy or lease one in a couple of years.

I've owned two G20s and the only complaint I've had is that on both I have had to replace the starter.

I can't really compare the G35 to other cars in it's class, but I think it is great.

If your thinking of a G35 C go with the 350Z. More bang for the buck and looks a hell of a lot better.

I drove one last summer when I was looking, not that I could have afforded it, but hey...

My thoughts were that it was fun as hell to drive, pretty, and I disagree with the cheesy intertior comment-- I didn't think it was much like the nissans at all.

I was annoyed by the way the seats fit my body, and then there was this weird little storage bin kinda place in the door that stuck out just enoughj to jab me in the leg. Nice car though.

Check out the Acura TL and TSX before you buy.

Thanks for the input. I ended up getting the coupe. Its absolutely fun to drive. The only fear I have is spending a lot on gas. What I need to figure out is if I can fill it with the middle grade instead of the premium.

I've got a 2003 I-35 that I burn midrange (89 octane) in - no problems. If I'm doing extended highway driving, I fill up with 87 octane. No problems.

89 octane is useless. You either need the 93 or you do not. If you have aluminum heads on the car, and I am sure it does then you need the 93 unless you want to replace the heads in 3-5 years. Good choice on the car.
