what are your favorite Indian/Pakistani food places, my list would be (in order of preference):
1. Sarovar
2. the Clay Pit (well, it's somewhat Indian anyway)
3. Swad
4. Taj Palace
decent: Star of India / Shalimar / Bismillah

but it seems like Taj Palace, Star of India and Clay Pit all rank higher consistently than Sarovar in various reviews i have read in Austin. For just pure curries, Sarovar is best in my opinion.

Is Sarovar the place that is owned by the owners of Baby Blue's Pub?? That's a cool little place!

My friend's family owns the Clay Pit, but I have never been there. I've never had Indian food.

indian food makes my *** explode, but it's good. i enjoy sarovar.

although the best i had was this little place across from my hotel in islington, yes, that islington.

near campus on the drag (20th?) an Indian Buffet place is opening in time for the fall semester. I'm sure it will be below average and cheap. I can't wait for it to open.

clay pit is good, but its like PF Chang's...contemporary bistro whatever.
the restaurant off of anderson is my favorite....i think its shalimar but i cant remember

Yeah, then Sarovar is the one. Next time you eat there go check out Baby Blue's--cool little place!

Winstreak, you might be thinking of Star of India, there's one on Anderson near Burnet. Shalimar is on North Lamar. they show cricket there, it rules.

has anyone tried the Taj Palace "booth" at the Highland Mall food court? i haven't been yet, but it's rumored to serve fresh hot kebab wraps.

Adi, Baby Blues is pretty much just a bar, but it's owned by the same people as Sarovar and they are connected in the back. It's a cool little joint!

It smells like curry in here

actually, i can never get the 'very spicy', i got it one time, and i had to take my food home so i could water it down a bit! i usually stick to 'medium', it's perfect for me, and i can eat hot food!
