Hey Guys,

I need some advice on health insurance..

I've never really had to get it on my own before and I don't know all the terminology (and somewhat coded language).

I'm 26, mostly healthy non-smoker.

What is the benefit/cost of a high deductible?

Co-pay... there are a bunch of options for this and I don't know which is best.

and I'd like a plan with Dental coverage.
also, I'm just realizing I may be a bit neurotic so Mental Health coverage would be good too.

I've noticed that the Texas Exes appear to have some deals out there for group coverage, would that be a good way to go?

Any suggestions are appreciated

The Texas Exes may make you feel better about going that way. IMHO, it s just a marketing medium for the Ins. carrier..... AARP is the same way.

What kind of independent contractor?

I'm with MBO Partners. They can do insurance, 401(K), etc. Also do my accounts receivables, business expenses, etc... They are an employer of record for independent consultants.
