In-ground propane tanks

If I am looking to add an in-ground propane tank to my property in Austin in conjunction with a kitchen remodel, what is a rough range of the cost to purchase the tank, have it buried, and have gas lines run into the kitchen (which is on an exterior wall)?

I have an all electric house and kicking around if it is worth the cost to put it in the budget.

I have a slab foundation, if that matters.
I would also like to run a line into the water heater closet in the garage to include a tankless water heater.
Finally I would like a separate line for a future pool/spa/and grill. Would I need 3 stubbed out lines for this?

It may be tricky to get the lines where you need to go on an existing structure. Figure about 70-100 per drop for your stubs but get them done all at the same time. The tank and line to house should be included together. With excavation and tank with line figure about 1500 dollars (also depends on size). In Austin you may need to pay a premium, maybe not.

My going rate for propane is $2.40 gal so that needs to be figured in when deciding cost. Cooking with propane is good, not as good as Natural Gas though.

do you not have natural gas line to the property, or at least to the street? Seems like it would be cheaper to plug into that

As mentioned, UST's (underground storage tanks) are regulated by EPA and TCEQ. I don't know for sure if a propane tank meets the definition of a ust, but I would go to the TCEQ web site and check it out before I spent any money.
