In Depth Analysis: Titans WRs SUCK

This is a great analysis of the Titans WRs and how bad they suck. VY is going through a lot of criticism right now, but this tends to show that he is by far not the only one to blame. These numbers back up what everyone else already knows: he has no help.

Thank you for posting.

I'm glad to see numbers back up what I've been screaming about for 2 years now.

God they suck. Cowboy fans would never stand for this and for that matter neither would Jerry Jones.

Duh! Anybody else watch them last season. Pretty obvious stuff. Receivers are a big part of the pass/catch equation. Too many forget that when they jump on Vince's back.

hornpharmd is on to something and i've also heard that vince has no help by design. not that any team would intentionally be weak in one area but that the titans are not moving forward with the idea that they are going to rely on vince's arm.

I was happy to see they included the tight end numbers. That severely hampers the argument that the Titan quarterbacks are just as responsible.

I'm sorry some took this as an opportunity to blast me for stating the obvious. I agree it's obvious that the WRs suck. I was posting the link because its more than just observations or chicken/egg arguments regarding Vince v. the WRs. I think it substantiates what we already felt was the case.

From now on I'll only try to post things that will happen in the future.

Titan's WR's could collectively be the worst group ever assembled on an NFL field. They are horrible and the thing is, it's been that way for 3 freaking years now. Not one single improvement. The only team close to them in futility is Baltimore.

VinceHung-- thanks for posting this. Try not to be too sensitive, it's difficult to convey emotions through the computer. Some people say "Well, duh" in a complimentary and sincere, joking manner, but on the computer is doesn't translate well.

Anyway, it is indeed great to see the numbers that back up all of our observations. Vince's receivers haven't just been poor since last season, they've been flat-out atrocious. THEY are the primary reason why the Titans' offense is pretty much unwatchable for me right now. And as Huckleberry points out, the TE numbers really show off the disparity and take a huge chunk of the blame off the Titan's QBs.

I'm not sure I understand the comments about the Titans' passing game being this horrendous by design, since they don't intend to have Vince use his passing skills? Unless they go out and get 3 or 4 top-notch running backs and switch to the wishbone, even the densest OC should realize that they are going to have to pass the ball to succeed in the NFL, and in order to pass the ball, they have to find some receivers who know how to CATCH the ball. Right now, they have zero people capable of catching the ball at the WR position.

It seems if you are going to run a ball control offense the most important thing you can do is have receivers that can CATCH. If your plan is to grind and move the chains, drops really kill your offense. Much less so than in a big play offense that throws deep a lot.

When Roydell Williams was your top receiver last year - it's time to make a change. A SERIOUS change.

Not only does VY have to deal with a WR corps that, almost impossibly, manages to regress every year to a new low, but now Vince, in his 3rd year, has to deal with a new OC and a new system.

And people wonder why he hasn't set the world on fire this preseason........

No reporter has to go too deep to know the Titans WR's suck. My 4 year old son walked in front of the tv during the Titans scrimmage the other day and watched as [whichever receiver dropped the ball on a perfect pass for a first down during Vince's last series] and said, "You suck!"

He pretty much nailed it!!!
