Impeachment

What is this Ukraine thing all about? Didn’t Hillary tried to get campaign info against Trump from Ukrainians? Didn’t Biden pressure Ukraine to stop an investigation due to alleged corruption? Forwarding to today, if Trump presses Ukraine about corruption, that is impeachable? I don’t get it. Or is this a fake issue to get Dems to impeach Trump, something they want to do anyway. If latter is true, doesn’t that signal they don’t think Warren or Biden can win?

How real it is depends on what Trump said during the phone call. If he just encouraged or asked Ukraine to investigate, then the case for impeachment is weak. If he threatened to withhold the military aid if Ukraine didn't investigate, then the case for impeachment gets a lot stronger, because then we're talking about a real crime. However, even if it comes to that, it invites almost as much flack onto Biden as it invites onto Trump. Like I said previously, I think Elizabeth Warren might be the biggest winner in this equation.

Trump just authorized release of transcript. What if this was planned from the get go (read from a script) to sink Biden?

It is going to be the complete transcript, no redactions.
I also hope we find out who the whistleblower.
Pelosi is saying she will likely go ahead on impeachment even if there was nothing wrong with the phone call. Dems are so full of hatred.

Does anyone really think the transcript will show impeachable conduct?
wanna bet the Dems are already trying to move the goal posts

Hard to say. We'll find out.

The Whistleblower complaint is key, the actual complaint and panel interview. Accoding to the reports the call was only part of the whistleblower complaint. It is not the end all be all to this ordeal.

Releasing the transcript now is a bit like Don Jr. releasing the Trump Tower email. Get it out before the media does so you can shape the narrative.

It should be pointed out that Trump himself has already changed his excuse for holding up the Congressionally approved aid.

Schiff tweeted they are speaking with the Whistleblower's council and they want to meet with Congress.

He has not changed what he said. The two things he said are not mutually exclusive.

Yeah, that's why he didn't mention corruption today nor the EU contribution yesterday. To me, that's an evolving defense strategy likely driven by the former excuse putting Trump too close to the fire he's been trying to burn Biden with.

Maybe because he didn't feel a need to do so? You jumping to conclusions in all of these anti-Trump conspiracies hasn't worked out well, has it?

I think the transcript is important. Obviously that's what was said to Zelensky. As for the complaint, there's no way to know how much if any importance it has unless it's released. Schiff has subpoenaed the report. I would hope he'll seek court intervention if nothing can be worked out with the DNI.

Based on Pelosi's comments at The Atlantic event and Biden's statement,I think Nancy is approaching this judiciously. This isn't an Impeachment but rather the start of the investigation that could result in Impeachment (impossible due to McConnell). Already you can see the left downplaing any specific quid pro quo statement by Trump but rather focusing on an implied quid pro quo and/or abuse of power.

Let me be clear, the transcript is an important element but it in and of itself won't be exonerating like some on the right will claim immediately after its release.

It's important to also note that Guiliani has traveled to Ukraine as a personal representative of Trump. That should also be part of any abuse of power investigation.

Yeah, Guillani traveling to Ukraine needs to investigated.:rolleyes1: Enough of these silly investigations based on stupid conspiracies.

It's not exonerating - if there's some other piece of evidence. If the report has something else, then let's see it.

I don't have a problem with them looking into that. I'm not confident it'll turn anything up. Guiliani isn't as dumb as Trump is.

As far as a timeline goes, it goes back to Hillary and Soros (and I wrote about this at time in here somewhere)

(1) Hillary donors Soros and Pinchuk + Clinton appointee Victoria Nuland effectively overthrew the elected Govt of Ukraine in 2014.
(2) Then that Govt attempted to and did apparently interfere to some degree with the 2016 US election (aka the "Russia hoax")

Somewhere, there are older posts on this

What if it was not the Russians?

OK, so now that Trump is being transparent about his call with Ukraine and ordered the release of the full transcript, let us not stop there

Let us also see ---

All unredacted transcripts of Obama's calls with Iran right before he delivered them $150 Billion in cash

All unredacted transcripts of Biden's calls with China before his son secured a multi-billion dollar deal

What do you say now Dems?
Do you still pine for "full transparency?"

It's ALL about transparency because that is what Trump is known for.

The funny element about the Biden investigation that Trump advocated for with Zelensky is that one can assume the Trump admin already has the details about Biden from his documented actions as VP. If they have the goods indict him.

What? They want UKRAINE to investigate?

Or simply you could ask your POTUS to stop abusing his power? Nah...accountability only work in one direction...again.

Because he isn't abusing his power. There isn't one iota of evidence of that. But keep fishing until you find something. Haven't you fallen for enough fake news over the last few years to last a lifetime? When the latest garbage gets seen for what it is your side will create more fake **** and you'll fall for it as well.
