'immediate ceasefire': only for Israel?

When the US Executive branch issues an "immediate ceasefire" I assume that means only for Israel? Because we know that HAMAS nor the Palestinians won't listen to anyone. Should Israel stop if the other side won't? How few rockets into Israel per day should be enough for Israel to stop?

If they do stop and more rockets start showing up in the skys over Israel, or more kidnappings, should they still stop?

Seems reasonable that Israel should want to send a serious message for HAMAS and their supporters to stop.

What about the tunnels? Should Israel lie back and allow kidnapping of their people through tunnels under their feet? Maybe the answer is to import all of the Palestinians to live in Massachusetts, DC, and CA?(along with the rest of their Donkeys)

Washington has zero idea what it is taking about. Israel has every right to defend itself and make sure Hamas never jacks with them again

I'm not saying the BO Admin didn't tell only Israel to "immediately cease fire" but can you direct me to these statements?

Kerry's mocking of Israel yesterday on an open mike speaks volumes of what the Obozo Adm thinks.

reread Zork's op
and tell he how you got out of it that Zork was saying BO issued a cease fire only to Israel?

Actiully I see zork's post as pointing out that Hamas is as murderous as most sane people know they are
and there actions regarding the cease fire prove it.

So is the complaint that a US Administration is asking for a unilateral ceasefire? Seriously? It's a boilerplate ask. Every administration ever to weigh in on the Israel-Palestinian conflict has likely made the exact same request.

Hamas won't stop. So it is a defacto unilateral request. Simple. Btw, Hamas is not the typical Palestinian side of this long argument. When the Palestinians chose them they chose poorly if they desire any type of peace at all. This is no surprise.

Chango??

really?
have you NEVER made a quick typing error?Ever
You want to criticize my error on Their ?

why didn't you attack my spelling of actually?

Maybe when one side is up 500 to 10 the mercy rule kicks in and the side that is that far ahead has to stop.

This is meaningless. No country gives a damn about what the American Executive Branch says. You can only draw so many ignored red lines. BO is a joke. He is tired of actually leading - fundraisers are so much more fun. He is back to phoning in "present."

What would you expect any administration to say? Please continue to kill each other as long as possible?

In modern times has there ever been a negotiation between 2 sides while they are killing each other? This is boilerplate stuff. Heck, even Russia was calling for a ceasefire from all sides in Syria at one time.

I watched Bibi this morning. he said Israel would find ways to protect her people from the endless rocket attacks and incursions from Hamas through the tunnels. That would include NOT allowing concrete and steel to be shipped in.
he said we WILL protect our people and that is my policy.
Then a VP of the PLO came on and said that the Palestinians had a right to protect defend their own including defend any tunnels.
Tnnnels they built with concrete etc supposed to be used to build schools.

This article sums up the BS from the executive branch with all of the competing claims being made so they can claim to have said anything depending on the conversation. Realistic? Not hardly.

Pretty good article:

Good point
I am sure jimmah carter would blast Netanyahu for not blindly following BO
and now that we have seen the tunnels and have seen Hamas setting up rocket launchers next to hotels and schools I wish BO could at least have the honor to issue some kind of statement acknowledging BO's admin was premature to criticize Israel for bombing that school.

Some context from back as Israel unilaterally gave up control of Gaza to the Palestinians:

In retrospect: was that a good decision since the Palestinians elected HAMAS causing diplomatic suicide? Or does it show that Israel was right all along that giving an inch will only move the goal posts requiring them to give more?(till they are pushed into the sea perhaps?)

It seems pretty simple to have HAMAS guard their borders of Gaza by arresting anyone shooting anything into Israel. Meaning if the rockets or other projectiles stop being shot into Israel then there will be no attacks emanating from Israel? Is that too hard, and if so why is it too hard for HAMAS to control?

Now HAMAS makes demands from a position of weakness. Threaten, threaten, kidnap, shoot rockets, rinse, repeat is the HAMAS mantra.

Should Israel believe otherwise, that HAMAS would ever be peaceful? I say there is no chance of peace from HAMAS towards Israel.
