Not sure if she had already visited USC officially, but taking an unofficial today can only be good for the Women of Troy.

I sure hope we get her. Honestly, I thought North Carolina might be the team to beat with her aunt recently joining the Tar Heel coaching staff.

I dont think she is going to USC.They have 9 post/centers.And none of them are Seniors. We would provide the most playing time for her at Texas. So hopefully we will get her.

Also, taking an unofficial visit to USC is like me visiting Texas. It's right down the street from her and a nice option to visit. If she waits until the spring, she will be able to see how our posts are playing and, if she has followed UT, how they have improved, especially Ashley, who is the only senior post.

Guess she couldn't wait either.

Sounds kinda major. Hope she has a great recovery. Thanks for the update, Moo. Just wonder how tall she is, keep seeing 6-5/6-7.

Seen a couple of tweets this morning suggesting that Imani has definitely committed. No official word yet though.

I'm feeling kind of optimistic!

Your post seems to imply you've heard she's committed to the Horns. Is that what you meant to say, or just that she's committed somewhere? I can't find anything on this so please share your source, if possible. Would certainly be great news if we land her, since most have always assumed she would follow in her mother's footsteps at USC.

Here's the twitter reference, but doesn't say anything about which school she's chosen. So perhaps jusme828 wasn't implying she was a Horn:

Either way, I guess we'll find out soon enough.

That was one of the ones I saw. But saw this one earlier this morning. Not really a reference to Imani, but I have hopes that it is!

@ShesBallin
ShesBallin Huge news coming out of UT. A shocker. Make sure you to pay attention to Hoopgurlz.

We got her.

No. 10 Imani Stafford signs during the early period
Imani Stafford of Los Angeles, Calif., told ESPN HoopGurlz she has signed a National Letter of Intent with the University of Texas. The No. 10 ranked player in the ESPNU HoopGurlz 100 chose the Longhorns over hometown finalist USC.

"USC and Texas, they both offer me the same thing as rebuilding programs and academically for my major," Stafford said. "It came down to my comfort zone and being 6-foot-6 in junior high, and having my parents literally 10 minutes from campus, I needed to lose that safety net."

Stafford, the 6-7 post who has a five-star rating, is the second ranked player to commit to Gail Goestenkors in the 2012 class. She joins No. 70 Empress Davenport of Duncanville, Texas, a 5-7 guard, in the Texas early signing class.

Texas has also been busy recruiting the 2013 class with four verbal pledges to date -- a pair of Cedar Hill (Texas) High School teammates and ESPNU HoopGurlz Super 60 players, 6-3 post Jada Terry, ranked 28th, and 5-7 guard Candace Adams, ranked 48th, as well as a pair 6-1 wings who are also twin sisters, Audrey-Ann Caron-Goudreau and Khaleann Caron-Goudreau of Gatineau, Quebec.

This is a huge get for Coach G and Texas. We were in desperate need of another post player with Ashley Gayle leaving after this season.

Congrats to Coach Hughey who I read has been the lead recruiter for Imani.

Hopefully, this opens up a pipeline to more California prospects, although we seem to be full for 2013 already.
