iMac @ Mac Store

Can you walk in and pick up an iMac at one of the Mac stores, or do they have to be ordered and built? Too used to buying PCs, no clue about Mac

Yep, you can walk out with one. The process is quick. You don't even have to go to a check out counter. Your sales assistant takes care of everything on a hand held 'register'. The receipt mysteriously appears from under the table. Pretty impressive. Even when it's busy, it doesn't take long.

The new 27.5" iMac looks mighty impressive online, couldn't imagine what it looks like in person. At 2 large, it seems an impressive deal as well.

Only thing that would hold me back at this point is that I have a sneaking suspicion that the iPhone touch technology will be appearing on the iMac shortly.

bought the 27.5". Looks awesome anyway. It's for my wife and her photography business mostly. Seems cool. She takes our computer in there this week to have them move everything over. We;ll see how it goes.

There is an app on the computer where you can literally clone your old machine to this one. I have done it from laptop to laptop, but I would assume it is on the iMac also.
