I'm Sick of the Aggies

If we have room, I'd like to steal Corey Nelson. I don't even care if we need him.

No offense to some of the good Aggie posters around here. It's your obnoxious, moral-victory-lovin' brethren that rub me the wrong way.

ps If we have room, it would seem to be pretty tempting to join one of the greatest defensive classes ever recruited. C'mon Hicks and Jeffcoat!

I know what you mean but as far as I know we don't "steal" recruits. Once someone verbals I think the coaches leave them alone unless they change their minds and decide they would like to come here like Mr. Cobbs.

Didn't Nelson commit to Texas, then decommit, before committing to ANM? If Mack signs Hicks, then it's inconsequential.

Funny, I rarely even think about the Aggies, other than the week in which we're actually playing them.

That's what you do regarding a team that hasn't finished better than 4th in the Big 12 South, and whom you've beaten 8 of the last 10 times, in the last decade.

They embody irrelevance. Or, better yet, self-deluded irrelevance.

Leonard Davis decommitted from aggy and came over to the good side as well. But, that was the last recruiting class that Mackovic signed. I don't know how Mack approaches this type of thing.

I am all for stealing Corey Nelson, though.

tevin mims decommitted from A&M as well and committed to texas.

we are irrelevant right now. i hope that course changes over the next couple of years.

I didnt think Mims was ever actually committed to A&M. However, Dravannti Johnson surely was.

For you basketball guys, wasn't Damion James committed to them as well?

MB has always made it clear that he wants boys who want to be a part of Texas. If they're not here with their heart, then they'll never really be here.

If Nelson wants to be an aggy so bad, so be it. I don't want him on the 40 acres if his heart isn't into this team. If becoming an aggy proves his career at the next level to be a fail, mediocre or amazing, it'll be on him as we all know that aggy is where good players go to stay good players.

My $.02 worth.

James was committed to the Sooners, then Kelvin Sampson imploded their program and James left. Scottie Reynolds went to Villanova, so they got a great player out of it too.

I do hate the Aggies though. Last week I dined with an Ag who gleefully celebrated Colt's injury in the NCG. Made me want to slap her on the back of the head, except that it was a business dinner.

you're right on mims. he favored us until yall struck out with kennard, and finally offered him.

he was never officially committed to A&M. my mistake.

I would nlove to get Nelson for many reasons.Final Scout 300 has him uncomitted still.
Hmmm......

Of course, I want someone at Texas who wants to be here. I was not suggesting drugging or kidnapping the guy. There have been reports of Nelson wanting to visit Texas. I don't know if those reports are accurate or not.

I'd rather have Jake Mathews than Corey Nelson. With Benson & Jackson, I think we already have 2 better LBs than Nelson.

But as far as "stealing" a commit just to steal one - no thanks. I appreciate the way Mack handles himself with these kids and I'd rather take the high road. I'd much rather see these kids commit to aTm than OU.

Mike Garcia (OL) decommitted from aggy to join the good guys. I believe that was Mack's first "class of beef" year. aggy was pissed.

major committed to us, until we fired our OC steve ensminger.

i believe i remember reading that leonard davis committed to us too until he was blown away by his texas visit.

as for corey nelson, he's pretty much eliminated the horns from contention. now we have to fight off ou.
