So I'm thinking about getting a Wii. Is there any reason I shouldn't? Has anyone had a problem with theirs? And where is the cheapest place to get one? Anyone know if they will drop in price in the next couple of months?

Can't say anything about prices, but I love mine. Mario Kart just came out and it rules.

Plus, the Wii Fit is about to come out as well which I'm looking forward to.

Just be prepared, My throwing arm was sore the the day after I got the Wii because I played baseball too long.

i don't have one so take this with a grain of salt, but the wii seems so much more geared for kids. i played the baseball game briefly and i while it's pretty cool to have the interactive play, the quality is lame (imo) and i would rather play a ps3 or xbox.

Were I to buy a unit it would be a Wii. Maybe I am a kid but I love the interaction. Any lack of graphics or murder death kill games is a non-factor due to the interactive fun. But that is just my perspective. I have never wanted to buy a console but a Wii tempts me. But as long as I have friends who let me hold theirs in my hand and shake it, I don't need to buy one.

I have looked around in the last few days at various retailers, and NOBODY has them in stock. Even a lot of places online say they are out of stock. Any options other than buying one on eBay???

We don't have one but we have friends that bring theirs often. Tennis is a lot of when you have someone to play against. It gets kinds crazy if you're competitive. My almost five year old has played it a little and even she really likes it. It's nice to have a game that we can play together as a family. My daughter and husband played for a while yesterday afternoon. They played golf, baseball and bowling. My husband want to buy our friends Mario Cart so he can play it.

i didn't mean kid was a bad thing, by the way. i was speaking specifically about the graphics, which are a bit more cartoonish on the wii.

Well I already have a ps3 with COD4 and GTA IV so the Wii would mainly just be for when people come over. The games I would get on the Wii are Mario Kart and Tiger Woods Golf 2008.

I saw some at Costco about two weeks ago. They were around $350.00 with an extra controller and an extra game.

Mario Kart is definitely worth the money- I haven't been able to put it down!

Stores typically put new Wiis out on the shelf on Sunday morning- I found mine calling around on a Saturday asking there would be new ones in stock- Toys R Us was where I bought it. I've heard rural Walmarts are good locations to spot them as there's less tech traffic passing through them.

Well I have no problem actually getting a Wii. All the Wal Marts around me have them. So does Best Buy and Circuit City here. I just wish I could find one for a little cheaper.

Got one about a week ago and I think it's a lot of fun. Much more fun when you have people to play against. Mario Kart is really addicting and I am going to get the Tiger Woods golf game as well.

And yes, the fiancee and I both had sore arms as well the next morning from bowling, baseball, tennis, etc.

They are awesome. Considering it can still be tough to get one, I'm guessing the price isn't coming down anytime soon. Add that to the fact that it is the cheapest of the gaming systems already and that will keep the price steady

Ive spent the morning calling Targets, Walmarts, Sears, Best Buys, Toys R Us, etc and havent been able to find one in Austin yet. Anybody seen them for sale anywhere in the Austin area in the last last day or two????? HELP!!!

i think the gamestop at slaughter and brodie had them the weekend before last.
checkout frys also

I have a WII, but I don't play with friends over. So only Wii game I have actually played in depth was Mario Galaxy. Which is a really good game.

Gameflied Bully, Super Smash Brawl, and No More Heros but quickly lost interest.

Found one at Marble Falls Wal-Mart. Got Mario Kart with the steering wheel too. Family will go bonkers tonight when I set it up.

do you have to buy one of those steering wheels for mario kart or do you just use the controller like old school nintendo? and someone mentioned online, you can play others online now? I knew you could download games but didn't know that...

wii does have online gameplay, it just isn't as slick or easy to do as the 360 or PS3.

You don't have to use the plastic steering wheel. You tilt the remote sideways and turn it like a wheel. The remote just sits in the wheel and it gives you something else to hold and feel, and connects it to a fixed point of rotation.

You can also go Gamecube controller, Classic controlled, or wii-mote and nunchuck.

Rusk, was meaning to ask- you picking up GH: Aerosmith next month?

I think you can only buy Kart with the wheel, right? the places ive seen it at, it has the wheel included. that sucks if the wheel sucks. boo.
