I'm damned proud of this team

Some expected us to be good, but I'm not sure anyone thought we would have a team that could very well be in contention to take it all at this point.

Damned proud is accurate win or lose the next game!!!

I was thinking during the game, duh.. this team is damn good and Barnes did a hell of a coaching job tonight vs.Tree

Yeah, I would love to see this team make the Final Four, but even if they don't, I couldn't have asked for more. I don't think I've ever enjoyed following Texas basketball as much as I have this season, and it's not just because of the success. This is a genuinely good group of guys, on the court, in the classroom, and everywhere else, and they seem to really love playing with each other (i.e. the reaction of the bench when Harrison Smith got the layup and one tonight). Easy to root for this team.

Set a school record with 31 wins so far. Likely to have the Big 12 player of the year in Augustine. Great year horns. You have already met and exceeded my expectations coming into the year, what you accomplish from this point on is just gravy!!

I'm proud of them as well. They have worked their butts off and it shows in their production!

This is a great season no matter what happens Sunday, but I really feel this team will beat Memphis.

Very proud of this team.

another person so proud of our team. this team is so fun to watch and so easy to cheer for. 100% effort and passion. they bring it every night.

just say it to yourself:

The University of Texas is in the Elite 8.

I've been thinking for a while that this team reminds me of 77-78's NIT champion team. Didn't get into the Dance because the field wasn't 65 yet, but if they had, they would have made a deep run there.

In the NIT, IIRC, they essentially smoked all comers, with about a 20-point margin of victory average, including the final over NCState.

Individually, that team wasn't all that impressive (well, Johnny Moore's jersey IS retired at the Spurs' court), but they had great chemistry and played off of each others' strengths.

Today's version has it's Moore (Augustin), and maybe a little more (no pun intended) with no disrespect to the NIT champ team.

Just a whole bunch of fun watching them play.

Epitomized by Harrison Smith's last-minute 3-point play, giving up his body, and the bench coming unglued cheering him on.

Tom, I thought you were joking the first time around, but you sound serious in your second post. Is my sarcasm meter broken?

Uh, earned the right to be national champion? If UT wins all six of its tournament games, then they definitely "earned the right." Unlike in football, there is no controversy over the basketball national champions as they are decided on the court, not by computers and human polls.
