I just got this in an email today. At first I was appalled by it, but then the more I thought about it, the more I became intrigued. Then I finally decided, "I at least have to try and cook this thing just to say I did." Enjoy!

I will cook this one day for sure also. Anything with bacon is great. Let me know how it comes out for you if you cook it first.

I don't cook, I don't have a smoker, and I don't have a lot of patience. But I would pay for someone to cook one of these for me!

Seriously. PM me.

OK-- so you made it... was it good??? I'm not so sure about using Italian sausage in it. I think Brautwurst would be good...

I am frighteningly curious about this....

Wow. Someone could build an entire restaurant empire around just this product. Wow. My mouth is watering.

This is another recipe that calls for bacon and italian sausage that is real good. You roll out 1lb of hot italian breakfast sausage and in the middle place raw jalapenos (without seeds and membrane if you do not like them too hot) and fill the peppers with cream cheese, then cover the peppers with shredded cheddar cheese. Now you wrap the sausage around the cheese and peppers and then wrap the outside with bacon and place it on the smoker. The end product is too die for.

Good Lord that thing was obscene. Reminds me of that "Taco Town" skit from SNL. If I found out I had only two months to live I would eat one every day . . . and probably die after one month.

Never one to back down from a culinary challenge, I decided I HAD to try making this thing. Here's a photo of the results. I will say that it was pretty good, but a little goes a long way. My sons and I decided that the next time we try it, and we WILL make it again, we are going to do it with ground beef, and put chopped jalapenos/cilantro in the roll. Then serve it on a bun.

My son and I are making this tonight. I am adding cheese and a can of chipotle peppers. I plan on cutting off hamburger thick slices and serving on a bun.

I'm glad to see that two of you tried it! That picture rocks! I don't have a smoker, but when it warms up a bit I'm gonna go over to my friends place and cook that bad boy in his smoker. And, needless to say, enjoy a few cold brews.

This is going to be blasphemous for some but I'm not a huge bacon fan. I like it with dove wrapped in bacon or jalapeno/cream cheese wrapped with bacon but other than that, I am not a big fan. Too greasy for me.

Last night my son and I made it with ground beef and chopped jalapenos, as promised. It was good, and the smokey flavor was a nice touch. We sliced it and served it on buns, like a hamburger. My biggest complaint was that the bacon and jalapenos were not evenly distributed thru the bites of the burger. Honestly, we might consider making it again, but won't go out of our way to do it.

Me and my roommates made this last weekend while watching the basketball game. Turned out really good. Put some jalapenos and shredded cheese in the middle. I think next time, if we do it again, we are going to put cream cheese or sour cream in the middle and see how that goes. I really enjoyed it.

hook1997 - I learned that from LSU tailgaters, they call them "Armadillo Eggs"

I don't care for them so much, but damn it people at my tailgate don't expect them every saturday!

This bacon explosion gave me chest pains just from the pictures

A friend of mine made it and brought it to my house yesterday for the game.

It mainly just tasted like sausage.

We were relatively unimpressed.
