He's off on a journey to become a US Infantry Soldier. It should be a hell of an adventure.

I have the expected mix of pride and nerves. I'm treating it with Bud Light.

Nic is in for a treat. I went thru basic at Ft. Benning (Sand HIll) in 1966. And it was exactly at this time of year (maybe it won't be THAT much of a treat).

The proud father had to resurrect a very old post.

Today my son received his "Expert Infantry Badge".

From what I've read (and heard), it's pretty tough. Of those invited to test, about 90% wash out.

So, it's a hell of an accomplishment.
