Our closing in Houston is delayed, so the week planned for the move is open, and I want to go to Mexico. We looked at Playa Del Carmen from the thread below but it doesn't seem to be right. We don't want all inclusives but do want "luxury". We did Villa Del Sol at Zihuatenejo a couple of years ago and it was great, but the wife complained of the hard bed and won't go back.
So, where's a short hop from Houston that is luxurious, laid back, and not "mega" (and with soft beds). The plan is basically to work out, eat, drink, and kick back.
