...and my information is correct...

In order to make the NCAA Tournament, Texas A&M must beat Kansas; Baylor must win at Texas Tech; and Oklahoma must beat Missouri. And all of the other teams are out. No Big 12 team has made the NCAA Tournament with an 8-8 conference record.

Will/Should this continue???

The only correct way to end that quote is

"and I'd like to think that it does not" Damn, must not be much of a Simpsons fan

While I believe that is historically correct, with the conference's overall RPI this year i'm pretty sure the Big 12 will be getting an 8-8 team in this year.

As DM says, if the B12 can't get an 8-8 team in this year, it will not happen.

The bubble is really weak and all three of those teams have wins against good teams.

Bids should go by team, not conference. Obviously a team's conference is a big part of how tough their schedule was and thus is a contributing factor, but teams shouldn't get in or out based on 4th vs 5th place in conference, or whether an 8-8 team got in from the conference two years ago, or any such "logic"

I think this year the Big XII will get 6 teams regardless...

Texas
KU
KSU
BU
A&M
OU

I believe they will all get in.

Mhayden- if they **** the bed thursday afternoon by losing the 5/12 or 6/11 game I wouldn't bet on it.

You might be right, but I'd say they are sweating it out in malfunction junction if that happens

I'm rooting for the ag's even if their ticket isn't punched yet.

I'd much rather A&M be in the tourney and us be conference champs then us to be co-champs and A&M out of the tourney. To wish otherise is very "aggy"

Even a conf tourney meltdown shouldn't matter.

A&M's SOS is coming at the backend of their schedule (OU/Baylor/Kansas), helping offset what turned out to be a horrible non-conf SOS (though not many could predict before the season that LSU/Alabama would both be horrible and Ohio State/Arizona would both be bubble teams).

Just by playing Kansas on Saturday, their RPI will be bumped up to Top 40, and it won't be hurt much in the conf tourney on a neutral court.

Top 40 RPI team with 20+ wins in the 2nd best conference has never been left of the tournament anyways, but it especially won't be in what is a very weak bubble class.

A&M's resume doesn't look all that great, but if you really take a look at the other bubble teams, you see their resumes are even worse.

A&M is in, next few games will decide if they go as high as a 6/7 seed (beating Kansas and winning the B12 tourney, which aint gonna happen) or as low as a 12/13 seed (losing to Kansas and dropping the first game of the B12 tourney).

Though you of course have a lot of idiot A&M fans rooting against Texas "just because" (just like you guys have your fair share of idiot Longhorn fans), you'll find most of us that follow the hoops team realize we want Texas to beat everyone they face unless it is head-to-head with us -- as Texas is our best win at this point.

this is true.

I would be rooting for them Saturday even if they weren't in.

But I believe that they are, even if they lose out.

As much as I dislike them, I would like to be the Big XII Champion.

(Even though the tourney winner will be referred to as the Big 12 Champ by knuckleheads everywhere).

The pac 10 is being touted by many as the toughest conference in the nation. Look at the beginning of the year and see what the big 12 did when they faced up against the pac 10 in their little conference battle. Big 12 owned Pac 10. Like an earlier poster said, if the big 12 can't get in an 8-8 team this year than it will never happen. Overall i think this year from 1st place to 12th place the conference is stronger than it has ever been. This even includes the year where UT and OU were 1 seeds and KU was a 2.

i think we get 5 in for sure with a decent shot at 6. I just dont think the aggs will be one of the teams. their last 8 games have been horrible. they have to win the next 3 to get in, imo.

It's Catch-22. LIke to see an outright conf title, but hate to see Thug-U get an invite.

"If history has taught us anything, and it has not, it's that women should be only allowed to participate in certain athletic events, like mud wrestling or foxy boxing."

Thank you. Carry on.
