If Hillary were nominated, ...

This is a question for all of you who lean toward the Democratic ticket.

If the Democrats nominate Hillary Clinton, how many of you would vote for somebody else, third party, write-in, or otherwise?

It would make me look at McCain, if he gets the Republican nomination, depending on who he chooses as VP. I do not agree with the majority of McCain's platform, but I agree with enough, and I truly think he would try to stop partisanship for the sake of partisanship.

Now if he chooses a Neo-Con or Religious Right person as his VP, that all changes...mostly due to the likelihood of that VP finishing the term out as President.

I would vote for Hillary if this happened.

There is nothing wrong with her.

She is very similiar to Obama and if she wins the nomination I will follow her to the White House.

I agree with Garibaldi. I would take a serious look at McCain. Unresolved issues for me.
1. VP choice would be important. Absolutely not Lieberman. Let Israel nuke Iran not us. Which leads to #2.
2. His stance on Iran would be crucial. I don't support anymore wars we can't win strategically or politically.
3, His temperament. While I like passion, I don't want someone unstable with a finger on the nuclear button.

For Hillary.
1. What to do with Bill.
2. Temperament. Don't want tearing up when the going gets tough.
3. VP choice. Obama would solve this issue but don't expect it to happen.

As a liberal, if Hillary is the nominee, I'll look at McCain.

I don't agree with a lot of his positions, but he's more liberal than Hillary on many issues. Plus, he's pushed for change and I think he'd be a great commander-in-chief.

...I'd go hang myself. Eight years of Republicans in the White House has been quite enough.

But, as I've said elsewhere on this board, I guess I would fight a very strong gag reflex to vote for her. I don't think it's kosher to throw up on one of the electronic voting boxes...

If Hillary is nominated, she'll win. Women will vote for her in droves, and McCain being staunchly pro-life will make a woman's right to choose a key issue.

Even as a Dem, there is a lot to like about McCain.

But I don't have any issues with Hillary OTHER THAN her being a galvanizing force for the Republicans.

Honestly, there's nothing wrong with Hil... Double standard. Hil is a strong, willful woman with a purpose driven agenda, so she has to be a "*****", right? If it's a man with the same qualities then he's a captain of industry & leader among men.

Get over it...

PS to the OP: I'm an Impressive or HotScotchMan guy...

I'd vote for Clinton. I'd probably favor her nominees to the SCOTUS over McCain, for one, if and when that happens over the next four to eight years.

Regarding Iraq and Iran, Clinton at least would bring a rational approach relative to McCain who is even more hawkish than Bush, if you can wrap your mind around that.

I'll be going down to city hall and exhorting Bloomberg to run (I actually live a few blocks from his apartment, but that might be creepy). If he doesn't I'll vote McCain.

I would vote for Hilary. I can't stand her, but the next President will likely appoint 2-3 new Justices; and there is no way in hell that I wany any more Republican appointees on the federal bench.

HIlary, even if she wins (which I think she does in McCain is the nominee due to the emergence of a conservative 3rd party guy), it will be a disaster in the down ticket races, like local judges.

I think Hillary followed by Romney would be the best at actually handling the office of the president. (Although I would vote for McCain and Obama before I'd vote for Romney.)

I've read some things about how people project all of their anger and/or fears on Hillary. Whatever they think would be horrible is something that she would do. But I think that she would be the best President on a day-to-day basis.

McCain can be a "straight shooter", but I don't think that he can handle the position.

Romney would delegate and do an effective job, but I think that he would pander to interests that I don't agree with.

Obama would be in way over his head. He would be the Democrats' answer to W. Putting someone in an office that has no business being there because of a cult of personality. (If I wanted to elect a southern preacher to the office of the president, I would vote for Huckabee.)

Huckabee... he's funny.
