If Boehner hadn't sucked there would be no vote

If Boehner hadn't sucked there would be no vote that close. He is lucky he kept his leadership position. He sucks. Too bad he didn't lose. His answer to the challenge, punishing those members who recognize his past sucking, is a further symptom of his suckitude.

New leadership would have been good I think.
What do you think?

Until he and the other idiots in charge realize they are the problem nothing will ever change. They're all about lining their pockets and maintaining their power.

Not a fan either. But then again I'm not a fan of any of our worthless politico right now. All have their hands in the corp pockets - getting pretty pathetic when even those of us basically pro business are disgusted with the power hungry, dollar corrupted A holes representing us.

if he had been replaced by any of the knuckle draggers who wanted to bring him down we would have seen more legislation passed that would get vetoed. I'm sorry, but the Louie Gohmerts of the world may seem mighty attractive to people with nice ideologies to depend on but they look like super retards to most of us. ]

the speaker is a jerk but replacing him with someone worse is not much of a good deal.

Franz von Papen was a disgrace but his replacement was a lot worse

I would have liked to have seen that legislation get vetoed. At least someone would have to be responsible for it. Now we'll never know. I would be happy to see as much come to light as possible. No one can hide, as much, that way.

Then let him veto.
Hui I understand "better to deal with the devil you know.............." and "frying pan into the fire" but I also agree with "keep doing what you're doing and expect different results" to be definition of insanity. To me we are at the point of desperation to which I say for Gods sake do SOMETHiNG even if it is wrong just do something. Don't just sit around, take the money, and make idle threats because you want to give lip service to your constituents. Do SOMETHING! Show some gumption.

huisache,

We will never know. The frustration of yesterday, metaphorically, yields to the reality of today that Boehner is still Speaker. Show me Boehner, show me. What will you do?

I don[t like what the republicans want to do and don[t like what Obama is doing, so letting nothing much happen is not so bad.

We are not going to have any more unnecessary wars, the 11 million are not going to get amnesty, just a reprieve until 2017, and a lot of the loony mischief is not going to happen. Ok by me

If the gop rightists controlled and started passing their dreams, Obama would veto all of them, and we know he can't get his agenda off the ground any more. So we have gridlock.

other than stoking up wars with Iran and ISIS and further backing the Russians into a corner over that American strategic must have, Ukraine, I don't see much of anything the right wants on foreign policy to be worth much.

obama is setting up diplo relations with the Castros, but we actually have had those for a good while. Now we are going to start negotiating deals with them. If the deals are no good, get back to me.

most of what the "just do something" crowd wants does not enjoy a lot of support anyway.

.....and the no vote was not close at all. What, 25 of the 143 Republican congressmen voted for a change in leadership? They just need another 47 to have a majority.

So agreed on Pelosi!
The 'only' 25 votes just serves to emphasize my belief - they're all just big, money in my pocket, blowhards. I'm getting old and so cynical it scares me. The activist hippie in me has died but the just leave me the ____ alone hippie is taking more and more control.
