Did anyone else catch what Simon said to Paula after the Irish chick sang? Fox turned on the mics at the wrong time and I swear it sounds as if SImon says, " He wanted milk and you got a boner." My wife and I listened to it again and again and this is what we could come up with. I'm sure he was referring to Irish chick's dress, which showed some cleve.

Anyways, my vote for Brooke to go.
 
Didn't catch that, unfortunately. I did think that David Cook did a damn good job. The girls, other than Brooke, not so much.
 
David A - Sang well but he pretty much sounds the same for every song. I can't imagine him having a lot of commercial success. He would probably have one huge hit but that would be it. I don't know where he would fit in pop music right now. He reminds me of Clay Aiken, sings really well but doesn't fit anywhere.

Carly - I can't stand this chick. She annoys the hell out of me for some reason. I guess she can sing but there was a reason she had a record contract and got dropped. I think she goes home, who the hell is voting for her?

Syesha - She's good but not good enough to compete with other R&B singers out there.

Kristy Lee - She is VERY boring. Every time she sings I change the channel because I get bored. She sang nice enough last night but it was still boring. Unfortunately all the country music fans will vote for her.

Brooke - I think she did well but the judges didn't like her last night. I like the raspy sound in her voice. I think Brooke should make it all the way but I don't think she has a really big fan base the way Kristy Lee Cook does.

David Cook - I liked that he was able to change a MC song and he did well. I think he should be in the final three.

Aggie - Did ok but he pretty much sings the same thing every week.
 
Who said I heard her sing her whole song? I listen for about 30-45 seconds and checked in on the Biggest Loser.

kind of unfair to them. there is no way they could do justice to a Mariah song by trying to sing it like her.

kristy lee cook has to go.
 
I think David Cook will be in the top 3, and I think he has a good chance of winning the competition as well..Carly and Syesha are not fthat far behind him, they're good singers so it should be interesting to see what happens in the next few weeks...
 
First of all, Brooke was awful last night, and I even like her. Kristy was very good "for her," which is pretty good generally, and perfect for a large audience niche. You are missing something if you don't see her getting the country vote into a headlock. In fact, at the risk of being completely flamed, I'll say that she is the only one there with a guarantee of some commercial success. Syesha, Brooke, David A, and Tattoo girl will never have commercial success. Cook can, if he gets or writes interesting rock songs (harder than it sounds)(he can't make a career of covers). Castro can, if he can get or write interesting folk stuff (not as hard to come up with). And, okay, if Brooke goes off and writes this generation's version of Tapestry--i.e., one in a generation, she can of course succeed.
 
David Cook is far and away the best performer on this season and it's not even close, but David A is going to win. He keeps singing these boring *** ballads, but teen girls and middle aged moms in middle america love him cause he's so adorable (blech). Jason's niche isn't really unique in pop music, but it is for this show, there's never really been someone like him and I think it will be an all boy final 3.

Kristy has actually been good the last couple of weeks, but doesn't have the talent to keep it up. Brooke is bizarre to me and will go soon. As will Carly who I love, but doesn't seem to vibe with the judges. I hope Syesha goes tonight because she's utterly predictable and boring and she's just a decent r&b/soul singer compared to some of the singers they've had in the past.
 
Yeah I can totally see Kristy Lee Cook having commercial success in country music. She totally fits the female country singer mold. Hell if Taylor Swift can make is Kristy can. You basically just have to look good, very few of them can actually sing.
 
I think that Brooke is mentally unstable. Any criticism of her by the judges seems to send her into a self-loathing orbit. When she was in the bottom 3, her sobbing could be heard on Seacrest's mike even when he was away from her. She just lost it.

Still, I think that the powers that be will dismiss either Syesha or Kristy. If it is Brooke, we might have her completely lose it.
 
Mandingo, it's not that I don't like how David A sings, although I only like it a little in the AI format. I think he's at best in the commercial category of Clay Aiken or with every kind of luck, Josh Groban or Michael Buble as the total top-end of that genre, and I just don't think there's that many albums to sell in there. Now, if he had personality--which I don't see--his voice could be fabulous on Broadway. But, you are right, it's only an opinion!
 
Oh, and as for Syesha, she no doubt has great singing talent, and looks great, too. However, I agree with what's been said, that the R&B solo niche is too small and takes a more special singer than she is to even get her head above water.

As for Brooke, there's 20 girls you can see in Austin anytime who can easily outsing her who have not scratched commercial success, but, as I said, if she can begin to write classic American standards, the sea will part for her of course. Opinion!!
 
Last night reminded of how much I hate Mariah Carey. Her songs are awful.

David A is a one trick pony. He can only sing sappy ballads.

Sayesha has looks and enough talent. Same with Kristi.

The dreadlocked Aggie is going to be a commercial bomb.

I like the drunken Irish chick but she dresses like ***.

David C is pretty good all around.

I think Brooke will do OK commercially, actually. It all depends on how they package her and the material she sings.
 
I pretty much agree with VY on this one. Cook and Cook are really the only ones I see as having any degree of commercial success. David A is Clay Aiken with a slightly worse singing voice.
 
Everytime Syesha sings, I feel the need to pop some aspirin. The screaming drives me nuts.
Brook is batshit crazy. If she ever gets voted off, listen for the sound of a backstage gunshot.
Archuleta looks and acts like shy, 10 year-old girl.
I have no idea where Carly gets her votes. Ok, I'll give her the voice -- but she's unlike-able. AND, throw in the shots of her husband in the crowd.

I like David Cook. Mostly because I've had several people say I look like him.

I know the Christy girl had the least vocal talent, but at least she was nice to look at.
