Idiocracy

I just watched this movie. It has some pretty funny parts for such an overall crappy movie. My favorite line was:

"I just read your chart. You talk like a *** and your **** is ****** up. "

I laughed outloud at that one.

It was so slow and dumb, that when lines popped out like that one you listed, it was pretty ******* funny. It was just so over-the-top that it's difficult not to chuckle.

I thought it was funny. I think it may be a one of those Zoolander type of movies where it's so stupid it's funny and you have to watch it a couple of times before it doesn't annoy you.

The part where they show all the stupid people having babies galore and the smart ones waiting until it is too late because of career pressures is so dead on.

Also the lawyer who got his law degree from Costco.

The Dr. Lexus scene was the funniest in the movie.

And trust me, I am no Justin Long apologist.

Great premise that didn't totally deliver.

There are a lot of funny parts that I keep coming back to because the movie was so dead on.

Everytime I see a Gatorade commercial, I think "It's got electrolytes! It's what plants need!"

They dropped it in 130 theaters with only a week's notice, without a single movie trailer, and without even bothering to issue an official poster for it. Someone tried to bury this movie.

FOX was contractually obligated to release this movie. They were not contractually obligated to promote this movie. It slightly ridiculed their News network and totally ridiculed their dumbing down of America philosophy.

Office Space is admittedly a much better film, but Idiocracy may also give us a whole bunch of phrases that make it into everyday conversation. Both movies have so-so plots, but great dialogue.

Both Idiocracy and Office Space have good themes, but the execution was sorely lacking, and they left a lot on the table. Mike Judge seems to be a smart and creative guy, but he can't direct.

"President Camacho, five-time ultimate smackdown wrestling champion"

I'm not sure how people thought this movie was "so stupid it's funny". It's a dead-on satire of what America is rapidly becoming. I could see how one would not find it funny because it's so eerily similar to the third mall from the sun that we live on, but I thought it was the funniest movie of the year.

Oh yeah, cut me a piece.

THe photos of the president all around the white house are awesome. That guy is a very underatted actor.
