The missus and I are going up to visit my stepson in Arco, Idaho the end of this week. After visiting him, we are going to scoop him and my nephew up and do a little "car camping" going northeast to Grand Tetons/Yellowstone/Glacier National Park for a weeklong circle trip back to Boise.

I've been to Yellowstone, and been thru the Grand Tetons, but never been to Glacier National Park. Is it worth the drive? I am also looking for a day's worth of rafting/tubing/canoeing that the nephew and the son would like (18 and 20 respectively in ages) suggestions? recommendations? activities?

Dognduck –

I highly recommend Glacier. Going-to-the-Sun road is going to open on July 1 and the park is spectacular.

Regarding camping in the park – I recommend Avalanche, Kitna Lake, Bowman Lake and Fish Creek.

For river rafting, use Montana Raft Company -- 800-521-7238. Do the half day thrill seeker.

I have a house up there – let me know if you have other Qs. You will not be disappointed.

I will be heading very near there in 3-4 weeks, we are hoping to climb Borah Peak, the highest point in Idaho, which is about 45 miles NW of Arco, up US 93.

I've never been to Idaho, so I can't offer any suggestions, though. I am personally curious about Craters of the Moon NM, I don't know much about it.
