Ice water

Connor Atchley has it running through his veins. You could literally hear hearts breaking when he sunk the three at the end of the game. Awesomeness....

Perhaps, but Boddicker never took it to the hole, blocked shots, or snatched tough rebounds like Atchley has this season.

AJ FREAKING ABRHAMS has ice water running through his veins as well. He knocked down a couple of HUGE 3's when we were down 5 and down 3. Not to take away from Atchley's shot (it was big) but as a player it's definately harder to knock down a big 3 on the road when you are behind and the crowd is going nuts. Atchley's sealed it, but we may not have been in that situation if it weren't for AJ's shooting in the 2nd half. All around great win.

I thought the sky hook was more impressive. But then to immediately follow it up with a 3 shows what kind of range this kid has. With Boddicker we had a guy that was concreted in to the arc. With Klotz we had a guy that was undersized at times down low and couldn't step outside. With Connor we have a guy that can do it inside and outside.

Both of those guys have a look that opponents aren’t very scared of. AJ is small (on a basketball court), skinny and not heavy. Connor is tall, lanky, not overly strong and still has a kid face.

But, both will not flinch. And will absolutely rip your heart out. AJ’s threes were big momentum builders. The kid never smiles. He always has the same expression on his face. He knows he will hit the shots when we need them. You know Coach Barnes also tells him that.

Connor’s last three was a steel knife to the Wildcat heart. But, his post defense was spectacular. I saw the kid play in HS at Clear Lake. There is was no way I could even have imagined that he could become what he has.

Ice water, indeed. From the freakin’ Arctic Ocean, I tell ya.

What was it one of the announcers said, Conner is a "pick and pop" guy? Not many that tall that can step back after making all those picks and shoot that three pointer as well as Atchley.
And I love that patented in bounds three point play to A.J. that we like to run so much-that is a dagger late in the game when the other team is trying to make a run.

If all you could praise him for was his offense, he would still get a lot of praise, but the kid flat out brings it on defense. His hustle is contageous.

his athleticism takes a lot of people by surprise. lets face it, he doesn't look like that great of an athlete, but the guy has great hops and can get off the ground quickly.

one other point... hes so much better than 'just another boddicker'. just the quickness of his release in comparison to BB puts atchley at a different level.

The left-handed put back in traffic was my favorite play. Those kind of plays by the other team drive me nuts. It is about hustle and toughness. He bulled his way in and made the play. He pretty much got killed doing it too.

I thought there were a lot of plays like that last night. Plays where we kept fighting and ended up with the ball underneath. I didn't see much of that earlier in the season.

The "want to" seems to be pretty strong right now with this group.

a CA from this year vs Boddicker in his prime.. give me Connor all day long. Boddicker was a one trick pony with a hard nosed style of play that was borderline dirty. dont get me wrong, thats needed on a strong team, but atchley is SO much more complete in every aspect of the game.

No real discussion, Atchley plays much better D than Bod and still has time to improve next season. He really can get other teams frustrated in the paint because he stands a foot from the basket, hands in the air, and just doesn't move.

Guy throws daggers like he works for the circus.

I mainly enjoyed watching how Boddicker was going to get away with a cheap shot at some point in the game. Atchley is a much better basketball player. Don't forget about that 3 against UCLA. Ice water indeed.

My favorite play was when he ran the court, caught the ball in stride and dunked it. I bet people in Manhattan where like "What the ****?"

Another great surprise last night was Wangmene's play. If we can get help off the bench from him and GJ can keep people from slapping his nose, we are hard to beat.

Let's also not forget that Atchley's 3 at the end came off of one of AJ's 4 assists, something that I'm sure pleased one of our regular posters.
