Ibook Screen

is broken..wife dropped something and it bounced into the screen. it looks like a broken window, and it is a damn shame. any idea of how much it is to fix it? should I just get a new one? thanks oh sorry, its a Mac Ibook.

If it's a G3, those are under a recall...so you might luck out. If it's a G4, take it to a local apple store and they can give you an estimate for repair...take it if it's a G3 too.

Last year my fiancee was having her wedding shower at my apartment and my ibook was sitting on an end table next to the sofa. I get home a couple of hours after the party and my screen is broken just like you described. I sent it to Apple and they wanted $700 to fix it. I said screw that and it's still sitting in my closet. I'm still a bit pissed about that party.

On a completely unrelated topic, if anyone wants a used iBook, send me a PM. The screen is a bit cracked, but beyond that it works like a charm.

Yep my g-friend dropped her g4 powerbook and broke the screen. Apple wanted 1100 to fix it. I found a replacement screen for 300 on ebay.
