Thank you, I lost 2000 posts in the crash but I am so grateful to still have my life, health, and happiness on hornfans.

Haven't there been two crashes? Or maybe there was one here and one on LFZ?

I don't remember how many posts I lost, but it would have been a lot, as I posted heavily here before the split. Then I changed my user name at some point, too.

I think there were two crashes in late 99' on hornfans... and if I remember correctly they happened within a matter of weeks of each other. The first one was a minor bump in the road and the second was the 'big one' that basically laid the board to waste.

Didn't hang out on LFZ nearly as much... so I can't remember what happened there.

I don't know how many posts I lost but I changed names and did not bother to ask for the old ones back.

I believe there were 3 major crashes.

If I remember correctly, there was a small one in 1999.

A larger one in early 2000 and then a huge one at the end of 2000.

I know I lost probably 500-1000 posts - especially since I was frequenting the west mall during the election of 2000 and the daily debacle of hanging chads and voter intent.

I remember Katy let those folks who could remember their original sign up date to have the system "retroactively" give them their original start date. I couldnt remember mine so I took the early 2000 start up date instead.

However the major crash completely wiped out the entire database and we lost quite a few memorable threads- most noteably, the revived Oklahoma freakshow thread.

I, somehow, survived them all, although I may have only been a lurker during the 1999 crash.

I was here in '99. Don't know the extent of my post damage though. I've slept since then.

Pretty sure I got hit by all of the crashes, including a relatively minor one. Still remember the period where I had to create misirlou2 because the original names could not be logged into and new names could not be made that matched the old ones. Somewhere along the way I got misirlou2 switched to misirlou, but I lost the posts for misirlou and the start date. Most of the time I was able to get my meager post count returned, but the misirlou2 to misirlou episode was just too confusing.

I did feel pretty pathetic asking for my 500 posts, but it took me years to accrue that after leaving school.

I remember the great crash of 1999.

Every single message board of a BIGXII school was down. texags, baylorfans, hornfans, raiderpower were all down for like a week.
