I saw 'Hall Pass'

about what you would expect. Basically stupid, a few funny jokes, some shocking full-frontal male schlongage, one topless scene with a hot chick.

Christina Applegate has aged quite well. She still looks terrific.

Here's my review: save the 12 bucks, wait for DVD.

I got on the computer this morning and the last site you'd been to was cockgobblers.com.

Honey, I check the weather on that site.

I thought "Hall Pass" was pretty good and rate it about equal, for me, to "Date Night" in overall comedic and entertainment value.

I rented them both.

"Hall Pass" had an interesting premise and decent acting, but its script suffered from some lengthy parts that, IMO, were not close to the higher standard of other parts.

That certainly didn't keep me from enjoying all the good stuff.

And "Date Night," we thought, was a clever mashup of the excellent original of "The Out of Towners," starring Jack Lemmon and Sandy Dennis, with the mad cap, mistaken identity, vibe of mob comedies like "Some Like It Hot" or "Bullets Over Broadway" or even "Spy Kids."

Again, I enjoyed the good stuff.

However, both "Hall Pass" and "Date Night" pale in comparison to the overall excellence of "Horrible Bosses" and even to "Larry Crowne," IMHO.

I saw those two films in a theater.

All of these flicks were well-worth my viewing time, but "Horrible Bosses," specifically due to the outstanding supporting acting which benefitted its three, younger, main actors by setting up and fleshing out their own fine comedy performances, rates my highest recommendation for audiences of all mature ages, who won't be offended by the very copious use of the most explicit curse words available in our language.

My wife and I certainly noticed all the "bad " words, but we were laughing too often and too hard to be offended.

And we identified what was, for us, the overall excellence and exceptionally good movie making of "Horrible Bosses" and, to a somewhat lesser degree, "Larry Crowne."

These movies are each, at least, worthy of a home rental, I think, depending on your own personal taste.

JMO.
