I officially feel ilke a parent

we have adapted the Yeti Stomp into the Munchkin Stomp for our munchkin, and sing it to her all the time. STOMPSTOMPSTOMP I'm a MUNCHKINNNNNNNNN

Your backyard friends, the Backyardigans!
Together in the backyard again,
In the place where we belong,
Where we'll prob'ly sing a song,
And we'll maybe dance along.

We've got the whole wide world in our yard to explore.
We always find things we've never seen before.
That's why every day we're back for more
With your friends, the Backyardigans.

Wow. That sounds terrible. I still remember theme songs from shows that I watched as a small child.

H.R. Puffinstuff
The Bugaloos
All-Star Blazers

I think the Backyardigans are my favorite lately. The music is at least tolerable most of the time, and the movies are a hit with the 3yo.

I always find myself singing the songs from their International Super Spy movie. At work. Out loud. No wonder everybody at my office thinks I'm a doofus.

Whenever I read a Backyardigan's book to Tex, I usually list Uniqua's name as "The girl with the stupid name".

I like the backyardagins. It's the wonder pets that I can't stand. That damn ming ming drives me nuts.

That Backyardigans song rules. It's a nice piece of music, seriously.

I also like Swiper's theme on Dora.

Barney songs are the worst. They are an embarrassment, even for Dallas.

I have a 3.5-month old, so I haven't been assimilated by this stuff yet.

It's sounding very much like I do not want to be, either...

Forgot to add- it's also loaded onto the iPod that's docked in the bathroom in the event we get a Pablo request during bathtime.

That song used to make me sad. I have no idea why.

Backyardigans is entertaining. I like the idea that their imagination turns whatever the episode is about into an fantasy world. Plus, the animation is excellent. I like that my four year old watches this stuff.

The thing that cracks me up is, on Noggin, they announce that what developmental traits the shows are supposed to promote

"This show introduces complex linguistic patterns to enable linear analysis of language structures" or, "This program focuses on inter and intra-personal dynamics and music and dance movements to promote good hand-eye coordination".
