I Haven't Taken a Bath in 20 Yrs

Is that odd?

It hit me the other day that I can't remember the last time I took a bath.
Don't get me wrong, I shower everyday, but do you - as a dude - bathe regularly?

I almost always shower instead of taking a bath, but twenty years is a long time not to have done the latter at least once.

For instance, I had surgery on my leg a few years ago and temporarily had to take a bath while hanging my leg out of the tub.

I’m totally into showering but sometimes the lilac body wash with botanical extracts just beguiles me right into the tub.

what an interesting concept. I remember two years ago, when I was in training for a half-marathon. It was the last long Saturday run before the half-marathon, and by the time I had driven home from my run, I was already incredibly sore. I could barely get out of the car, so I hobbled upstairs to the bathroom.

I had run a total of 12 miles that day, broken into two parts, maybe a 10 minute break in between the two sections.

I climbed into that bath, and just soaked for a good solid 20 minutes.

My son's new cross-country coach is encouraging ice baths after some runs.

Baths to me are more therapeutic than functional. I'd probably take them more if I still enjoyed battleships and squirty toys, but now they're just kinda boring. I'd rather get done and move on with the day.

definitely therapeutic or for fun... every once in ahwile I'll wake at 3 or 4 in the morning with my back aching something awful. I'll lay down in a hot bathe for a half hour or so and it will help make it feel alright. As for the fun comment, my wife likes to do the whole bath thing together.

I'd say the universal rule for bathing would be that if it doesn't involve a naked woman in the tub, it really doesn't make much sense.

The one bath I've taken in about 20 years was when I had the flu, and I woke up in the middle of the night with really bad chills and body aches. All I could think of was how good it would feel to be emersed in hot water, so there you have it. And it actually did help some.

Could not tell you the last time I was in a bath tub without a girl with me... Probably young enough that my mom bathed me.
