I have stopped wearing deodorant

I'm not sure if it's the dry winter air, but lately, my armpits had become irritated. I had not switched deodorant - Old Spice High Endurance (because I'm an athlete). So a few weeks ago I quit. It's really not bad, but by the end of the day, my pits have a slight resemblance to onion soup. And if I exercise after work, I might be offending some of the people nearby. Does anyone have any suggestions? Some sort of organic deodorant w/o alcohol? Smell on.

I cannot wear any deodorant/antiperspirant that is clear or clearish because of the same reasons. I can only wear the white, semi-solids like Speed Stick Fresh Scent with the light-green cap or Old Spice with the tiny holes in the top. If it is colored or clear, it burns my pits like no other.

Deo works on me for a couple weeks then quits. Kinda annoying. But, I don't really sweat much, and I only get stinky if I'm stressed or upset about something-- then you'd better watch out!

Try powder. Seems to help towards the end of the day when the funk sets in a bit.

There is a liquid spray made from some sort of mineral salts. I have used that in the past and it works well. HEB carries it in the Hippie section. Deodorant works longer but for most days the spray works fine for me, and my skin isn't irritated.

One of the ones that works for me once I started getting irritated is the Right Guard in the gold spray can.

Well I am also an athlete, and i have world class strength. Old Spice solid (the white one) is my deodorant of choice.

i did the exact same thing captain ed did. spice to degree. haven't looked back. also helps from staining your tees yellow.

I am assuming it is actually Anti-perspirant that is irritating you. Try deodorant. I believe it is devoid of the irritants.

Mitchum Deodorant is the manliest....

Anyone how says different gets a sucker punch in the junk!!!!

I almost started a thread just like this. Maybe it's the change in the weather? No deodorant seems to work lately. It's like why bother.
Any suggestions?

There is also a prescription version called Dryosol that may work for you if the others don't. It will also help those of you sweaty sasquatches that regular deodorant doesn't work for.

I switched from anti-perspirant to deodorant a few years ago. I read an article that suggested that the aluminum in anti-perspirants (it is the #1 ingredient) could lead to Alzheimers (sp?). The data wasn't conclusive but it was enough for me to consider switching to deodorant.

I bounced around from Arm & Hammer deodorant to now I use Speed Stick "Irish Spring". They make both deodorant and an anti-perspirant version of this. I use deodorant.

I work in an office, I don't sweat much.

i used to have overly-sweaty armpits. Started using Certain Dry only once a week about three years ago. Did that for about 5 months and then stopped. I never have underarm sweat anymore (unless excercising), I don't use any form of deodorant, and I don't smell bad.

Deodorant is a conspiracy by the fragrance industry to get men to buy **** they don't need. Besides, a hint of natural smell attracts the ladies. No **** on that.
