of a Texas basketball team. Down 27-12. Finish 62-36 at the Phog. Totally composed and mature - for such a YOUNG team. Really excellent. I am totally vaklept.

Heart of a Champion Today.

Still a long way to March but today was huge in so many ways.

Given last year's fade and this year's football team . . . this is just what the Doctor ordered. This team is growing up pretty quick.

Consider too that KU played on Monday and had Tues-Fri to practice. We played on Wednesday and had just Thursday to practice before heading to Lawrence on Friday.

I think Texas will be big time tournament ready soon. Wins at Mich State, NC and Kansas, not too many teams can do that. Nice win against good Aggie team. Barely lost at # 5 Pitt and 2 point loss to a great Conn team. Texas is tough because of their defense, good job by Barnes

A huge key was not giving up after being down 18-3. They kept playing hard and rarely looked deflated. What focus and determination! The hustle displayed by Balbay, Johnson and Hill combined with the talent of the freshmen plus Brown & Hamilton is really meshing. Barnes has found a way to make this particular set of talent hard to beat. Oh yeah, and the newly found free throw stroke sure is helping!! They are fun to watch.

This team showed a lot of gritty determination by coming back from a big deficit in Lawrence. There's a really good mix of skill and toughness in this year's team.

In classic Rick Barnes fashion, he has this team beginning to peak at exactly the right time. There is still a lot of basketball left to be played - let's hope it's not too soon. But with the win over KU, this team has achieved something no Texas team has done before - beating them in their own house.

Well done, Horns. On to Oklahoma State!
