I hate the Astros

And Time Warner in Austin. I can understand the need to show Astros games in Austin but why do the Astros always get the FSS treatment while the Rangers get the Ch. 77 treatment, if that? The last few weeks it has been all Astros on FSS and FSSHD while the Rangers were either not broadcast in Austin or shuttled to Ch. 77.

Tonight the Rangers are playing the Red Sox after an historic game last night. It's blocked out on ESPNHD and Time Warner decides to show the Astros against the putrid Giants on FSSHD and the Rangers on relegated to the Ch. 77 ghetto. Ridiculous.

Okay, the Rangers game tomorrow night is being broadcast in HD by FSS tomorrow night. I hope Time Warner decides to carry that game.

It's probably a mixture of the Rangers being generally ****** and losing again tonight, while the Astronauts are hitting on all cylinders with their 7th straight tonight before their postseason run.

My rant last night was in the heat of the moment. The Rangers and Astros are both pretty bad so it doesn't make much difference to me. What I'm really mad about is the blackout restrictions imposed on the teams. Since I'm a Red Sox fan I've been spoiled lately with Sox games on TBSHD, ESPNHD, and the Extra Innings HD package. You can't turn on the TV without seeing a Red Sox game in HD these days.

It's easier for me to watch Red Sox games in Austin than Rangers and Astros games what with FSN splitting up coverage and 77 not always picking up the jilted team. Unless, of course, the Red Sox are playing one of those teams, like last night. Hence my tirade.

It's been my experience that, everytime FSSW shows a Rangers game, I get the Astros game on FS Houston, a channel I normally don't get.

Now that Directv has expanded the channel lineup, we've been getting two FSSWs whenever the Rangers and Astros were both on FSSW.

Quite a few of the Ranger games have not been in HD, though.

Rangers and Astros are .500 teams, not good. Football season is here, baseball season is over in Texas IMO. Astros and Rangers need better overall pitching and that is something that is not easy to get.

The Rangers aren't a .500 team at all. I'm dumbfounded at how they can have both the best offense in league and the worst pitching staff. I mean they have allowed more runs than anybody, but scored more than the friggin Cubs. Cubs will win the World Series this year. And, now I hope that I have successfully jinxed them.

AGAIN! I hate the Astros. Why is TW showing ******* Colorado/Houston on 77 instead of Texas/Boston? They're showing a damn fishing show on FSSW instead of baseball. Absolutely ridiculous.

Because Austin is and has been and always will be an Astros town. They were the first and only original baseball franchise in Texas.
