I hate defensive replacements

I really dislike taking out our power hitters like Keyes and plugging in someone who is a good fielder. The chance you need someone to make a really good fielding play seems so small in one or two innings. I know someone will say...Well, what if we had a defensive replacement in for Keyes against ASU in the 9th and I understand your point...But I still disagree. It really frustrates me seeing our big guys get taken out...only to see the defensive replacement never make a play and then have to come up to the plate and do nothing.

I realize this topic kind of blends into the one about coaching last night...But I'm talking about the concept of defensive replacements in general.

How many errors can our Left and Righ fileders have all together? I say unless we are up huge we should not pull them in any games.

On a side note, I think we should let Muldy hit against left handed pitching. Let's see what he can do. It didn't seem to hurt Mitchell much when he face Wood.

Which Augie acknowledged during the press conference last night. Don't expect to see him do it again in a close game this season.

I am glad that he understands that this is not a good coaching move but I am not happy that it took him 3 oe 4 times to learn this.

I will say that watching this WS I am more excited than ever to see Moldy play a full season healthy. He should be great in the middle of our lineup next year especially if our only left handed hitter leaves for pro ball.

I totally agree. It has not made sense to me anytime he has done it. When he has take Keyes, Moldenhauer, and Clark out of the game and replaced them with guys who have not played, it just drives me insane. It is not like the substitutes are super speedy base runners. I just want to bang my head against a brick wall when I see some good hitters taken out of the game for no apparent good reason.
