I dont understand some football fans

High school we would go to if we had any affiliation to the district were in, although we have thought about checking them out. One of these days we may cruise down the road to Southlake Carroll and catch one of their games.

Highschool games are great.. My son graduated a few years back and is actually graduating from UT in May. But now have a stepdaughter in 1st grade so im rooting for Belton now instead of Midway lol. And i believe we got a verbal commit from a Belton QB the kid looks good.

Roma and Htown said it well.

I am a huge college football fan. I don't "hate" the NFL, I just couldn't care less about it. I do hate high school football.

I am significantly more attached to college football than any other level, particularly to the Horns. This is because I was a part of the team for 4 years. I'm from Dallas originally and will always consider myself a Cowboys fan, but I can't connect to them the same way. NFL players are a bunch of mercenaries and are going to get paid their millions no matter what. At the college level, most of the players will never go pro and play with everything on the line because, frankly, for them there is no tomorrow. Moreover, in college, 90% of the players are from the same state as their school. There aren't generally mercenaries in college; the young men play with a passion that represents not just their team, but their school and their state as well. You won't find that in the NFL.

With respect to high school football, I hate mostly the townies and homerism that accompany it. I find the image of grown men obsessing over 14-17 year old boys utterly disturbing and sad. Get a life. I view high school football as a necessary evil to produce good college players.
