...yesterday in the emergency room.

***Spolier: This gets gross***

If you heard the whimpering and yelling as you drove by Seton Northwest Hospital yesterday, that was me.

If you ever have a pain near your tailbone that gets worse over a two day period, go see your doctor or to the emergency room ASAP. Don't try to be a man and wait it out thinking it will get better, like I did. Trust me. By the time you waddle into the emergency room at 7pm on a Saturday night and end up having a two inch deep abcess drained on your rectum, you will understand pain. Even with the happy pill they gave me to make me sleepy and numb the pain, and the local injection of novacaine, I still barely made it through the procedure without passing out.

BTW, Seton Nothwest was geat, they didnt make me wait at all, got me in and out FAST. Doctor said if I had waited another day, I would have had a huge infection and would probably been brought in by ambulance.

I had a pilonidal cyst last year- thought I had bruised my tailbone and ignored it until I woke up one day unable to walk and was running a 101 fever. You were more fortunate than I, however- the NP that drained mine did not give me any pain meds before or after she did it . I had no control over my crying- it just came out! That was the most painful thing I have ever experienced.

Doc said they just happen, particularly as you get older. He said they see them all the time in the emergency room cause idiots (re: me) wait till the pain gets to be unbearable before coming in. Lesson learned. If you have a pain around your cornhole and you havent been hanging out with any Yell Leaders, you might want to see the doctor, pronto.

That sounds terrible

This thread is fan-*******-tastic without pics. I can't think of anything I'd want less than pics with this thread.
Hope you feel better soon.

Not saying you are gay, but this is one more reason NOT to be.

"Risk factors for rectal abscess
Some people are more at risk of developing a rectal abscess. They are;
People with inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohn's disease
People who have regular anal sex
People with diabetes
People who have weakened immune systems. This includes people with HIV, people on certain types of medications, following bone marrow transplant, the elderly and the very young."

My daughter had to go to the emergency room yesterday as she had a really bad boil. The doctor took one look and said "yea, that's bad' and proceded to give her a shot in the dead center of the hole to deaden it. He then took out a knife and preceded to disect it. She screamed as loud as she could. She is 27. It hurt realllly bad.

She had a smart *** doctor who explained nothing to her. He just went in with the needle and she asked him if he had to do that, he said "well, I can't wish it away" and then off he went with the needle. He didn't ask her or tell her anything before or after the procedure. Great bedside manner huh?

Anyone want his name......so you can stay far far way from him?

It looked nasty when she came out. Like a huge open hole that was black and blue on her whole leg. It was disgusting.
