I confess: I like The Cosby Show

Bill, not Quan - though I loved the Quan's show too - especially his last play.

I thought the (Bill) Cosby Show was lame back in the 80's and never watched it. Now that I have kids of my own, it suddenly has become hilarious. Plus, it's interesting watching Raven when she was little - same expressions etc. Nice to see a child star turn out OK.

My only gripe is the ads they air seem inappropriate for this audience. I try to distract my little girls when they air a Viagra add and get to that part "if you have an erection that lasts over four hours, wipe that smile off your face and get to the doctor quick!"

I remember someone asking George Carlin about the famed "wardrobe malfunction" at the Superbowl five or six years ago. The talking heads on TV were in a huff over the consequences of a child seeing the brief flash of Janet Jackson's breast.

Carlin: "That doesn't worry me at all. But I am having trouble explaining 'erections lasting four or more hours my young daughter."

I never watched Cosby. I just thank God that we got the enormous talent of Malcom Jamal Warner from that show.

That was a great show!

I remember when that show was on in the 80s it got all kinds of flack from some in the black community for its "unrealistic" portrayal of a very upper-middleclass black family, with a succesful doctor and his lawyer wife (as if that was some sort of impossibility) -- as opposed to other sitcoms of the 70s and 80s that almost always depicted black families as poor (Good Times, What's Happening, etc).

Now, some people, including Bill himself, are crediting the Cosby Show with helping change America's attitudes towards blacks, to the point of making Barack Obama's election possible. Interesting theory.

No confession necessary. It was a great show.

What's next, confessions that you like... GASP... Cheers?

One of the rare family-themed, all-ages-can-get-it sitcoms that was actually very funny. No confession necessary.

fantastic show.

watched it when i was younger, from the very first one where Theo is holding the "money" he'd have left and his dad asks him,
"you plan on having a girlfriend?"
"well, YEA!"
Then his dad takes the rest of the money. good stuff.

favorite is the episode where they eat out of the middle of the cake before the party.

The Cosby Show is no guilty pleasure. It's just great.

My favorite episode is when Claire keeps sending Cliff out in the terrible weather and storm to get ingredients from some far away grocery for Thanksgiving dinner.

Cliff's Wet Adventure

Classic!

I loved The Cosby Show. Bill Cosby is a comdeic genious.

My favortie episode is the one where Denise makes Theo a knock off designer shirt.

Cosby show was greatness....as others have mentioned no need to "confess"

i said it on this board a few years back and it still rings true.

Occasionally I will watch reruns of all the family oriented shows that I used to like as a kid and i realiz now that most of them sucked ***. Im talking about shows like Family Matters, Growing Pains, Full House, ALF...etc

I thought I would have the same reaction to the Cosby Show...but all those reruns still make me crack up 20 years later. Bill Cosby really is a comedic genius, and hes the rare comic that can make people laugh without being vulgar (I admit....the vulgar comedians are the ones I like the best)

Am i the only one that thought Claire Huxtable was sexy as hell???
