I bring work jargon back to my home life sometimes

I caught myself using teh same concerned, urgent tone I use with my customers with my friend like "no value add" or "brings to the table." I just told my ex we should have ten minute one on ones weekly.

I do that with tech jargon a lot.

"What do you want me to do with these old containers?"
"Oh, just delete them."

Also, I say "Undo your last action", and "Email it to me" (when I mean just mail it to me). And I hate to admit it, but sometimes everything would work easier if I could schedule family events through Outlook's calendar. If only we were all on an Exchange server.

Kidding around, I said something about having to change from carrot to stick to "encourage" my partner to help with something around the house. He asked what I meant. I told him it was related to making donkeys move. He wasn't amused. I tried to explain it was a work term. Didn't help.

Thinking outside the box eh?

I sometimes find myself slipping into de-escalation dialog outside of school when there's a problem. Drives LHF68 nutz.

I toss out synergy, plucking the low-hanging fruit, etc. My wife looks at me like I'm nuts. When I am in a trite mood, I will give an "it is what it is."

10-4 good buddy. Like when me and the wife hit the road in the 4-wheeler on my day off. I still have my ears on and I always ask for a smokey report as soon as I hit the superslab and again on the flip flop. But she especially hates it when I refer to the ice chest as the reefer.
