I am slow, overweight, and unathletic.

i think we shot in the 30% range for free throws. the charity stripe will cost us a couple of games this year.

****, they prob shoot 500 free throws a month between practice and games. how can we be THIS bad?

Chapman is getting better every game.

Hes not a huge *** dude, but he still plays hard.

Id say hes playing better than Atchley right now. And Atchley is my favorite player on the team.

Shooting free throws does not require speed, appropriate weight, or athleticism. Well, not any more than bowling.

I am slow, overweight, unathletic, AND short. I've never been good enough to play anything beyond street ball with my dorky friends. BUT I still shoot somewhere between 60%-70% from the free throw line. To Bob's point, I typically don't shoot free-throws after sprinting up and down the court, but even so...

Why are free throws so tough for so many college & pro players?... and I'm not talking about game winning free throws in the final 30 seconds. They practice all the time. It seems to me that 80% should be the minimum for these guys.

I read a story on Shaq once. He blamed the size of his hands. He said it was easier for him to play under the basket because he could simply palm the ball and slam it in. Shooting from a distance was more difficult because his hands were so big. It seems to make some sense. My small hands feel just right on the ball when I shoot.

Growing up I always heard B-Ball coaches tell me that the cause of poor free-throw shooting is poor conditioning. They would say that when you are very tired you tend to get lazy with your form.

Maybe since our guys work so hard on the defensive end, they are just a little more worn out than other teams. I guess Rick believes that what we lose in missed frre throws we can make up with more steals and less made shots for the opponents.

I dont know, just a theory.
