I am REALLY WORRIED about our final game with TCU

I overheard some guys in the stands today saying that it's almost normal for Texas to go to the 3rd game in the best of 3 series in recent years. Is this so? I'm scared shitless. I really want to see our Horns back in Omaha again. It seems our bats can go cold and stay cold. Please Horns, SHOW UP TOMORROW!!!

Surely we won't blow the biggest cakewalk to Omaha in the history of college baseball.

But we probably will since we're doooooooomed!

I'm nauseous. Got to work at 5 am today so that I could still partake in some tailgating before Game #3. Not easy to do after 2 days or partying.

I think the team showed up yesterday expecting to cakewalk ... just like most of the fans did. It all comes down to 9 innings now.

Let's go Taylor.

This was never a cakewalk.

CSF had a cakewalk, we did not. TCU is a excellent team with good pitching and great power game.

We will be fortunate to win, but if we do things set up nicely for us in Omaha because we start with Mississippi Southern as our first game. Also, CSF and LSU are on the other side of the bracket.

As long as our guys don't stand there in the batter's box until they're behind in the count 0-2, I think we'll be okay. Be aggressive, go for it!

I was by no means saying TCU was a cakewalk, they're a hell of team. I disagree 100% with Handler's post. Our Regional was a cakewalk ... TCU is/was not.

My wife called yelling at me at 6 am.

I told her a mockingbird in the living room was the least of my worries. I have a drunk asleep in the guest room, and our season is on the line.

That said, I hear you make an excellent zoo-keep.

Any idea who is behind the plate? Have we seen this blue before? I agree that a giant strike zone is frustrating but you have to adjust to what you have. I'd rather see them go down swinging and swinging hard. As they say...in case you hit it.

Guy behind plate tonight was the guy at first yesterday. The same one that blew the check swing call in the 8th and the out at first in the top of the 9th.

Bad calls, but that is baseball and the way things go. Time for us to take the decisions out of their hands and win.

Hey, we're the home team, the game is at 6PM so at least a little relief from the oppressive heat. Back in our normal dugout. ESPN is here. Let's launch this year's Omaha campaign today!

I would not say TCU has "great" pitching. Effective, but not great. Helps when the Longhorn batters look completely clueless up there.

The guy they are throwing today appears to rely heavily on his defense. He doesn't walk many (about 2 per 9 innings) but doesn't strike out many either (only 43 Ks in 67.1 innings). So it looks like we should be successful at making contact.

Just for comparison, Jungmann walks 3 to 4 per 9 innings and has 81 Ks in 73.1 innings.

Any report on how the wind will be blowing at 6 p.m.? I think this is one key-just about every team we play has more guys who can launch fly balls into a wind blowing out than we have, so no wind, or wind blowing in would really help the Horns.
But hopefully, the Frogs won't get the kind of pitching they had yesterday, as well. We got nobody on, hardly, to try to move up to second, at least with zero or one out. I think it was the seventh until we got a guy to second(?).
We actually got two good clutch hits the time we got runners on second, scoring our two runs.
We have to be worried due to the light hitting stats put up this year, but you have to believe we have better pitching remaining at this point. But anything can happen in one game.

Quote from a player (that I won't name) after the game -
"We suck; can't hit a fastball to save our lives".

Also, Keyes had his right hand wrapped in ice. He was in good spirits but I didn't ask how serious the injury was.
Hopefully the ice was just a precaution.

Anyway, we need to regroup and get our confidence back. Be loud tonight folks

I have gotten permission to leave early today, so I'll be there with all my karma. Yee-haw!!!!

as long as we don't come out tight and bunt ourselves out of inning with free outs, we'll be fine. no prob, right? i too like to state the obvious.

The anti-bunting zealot rears his head. Did you not witness game 1 of the series? Are you actually going to say this cost us in either game 1 or game 2?
