Right you are. We played great but we made too many service errors and didn't get enough points on the serve which PSU did and that is why they won it.
I understand the desire to get the ace on a jump serve, but we had too many that were long. I'd rather hit a serve that can be returned and then work the passing game and get the kill.
And don't even get me started on the serves into the net.
We just flat gave that match away, which is a pity considering how well we played in the first two sets.
Kiraly said he would set everything for Hooker down the stretch ... and how can you disagree? When you have a thoroughbred like that, you ride her all the way to the end.
I disagree. You don't have to get aces for a serve to work. The receiving team has a huge advantage if you don't make tough serves. A team like PSU will eat up soft serves.
We won the first two sets in part because we served very well. There were quite a few times where they were off schedule because of difficult serves.
At any rate, I was already screaming at my TV when they were going away from Destinee when she was on effing fire. That was the biggest mistake of the match, imho.
I believe that led to the momentum they got at the end of Set 2 that they carried into set 3.
