I was discussing the athiest v. Madison issue with a couple of friends and had an idea.
The FCC owns the airwaves and has very loose jurisdiction over individual content. For example, it regulates cussing, nudity, etc... to a certain extent.
If pushed (ie sued) some time in the future, would the FCC be obligated to censor religious messages on government controlled airwaves? Yes, I know it's far-fetched but so would the banning of Christmas trees in school were you to tell someone that this would happen in 1960. Just wondering.
