What can you tell me about the neighborhood? I like that most houses seem 3/4 or entirely masonry. Good size homes for the money. The park seems decent. How are the schools? Crime? Neighbood-ness? I am also looking at Mesa Park or the Oak Knoll area (+$25k for that).

I live in the Oak Knoll area (Windridge). Oak View park is smaller than
the Hunters Chase park. The schools are RRISD and supposed to be
pretty good. I have quiet neighbors. No big crime sprees lately.

You can find homes from $170-500k+, depending on which street
you look at. Homes tend to sell within 3-4 weeks, that I've noticed.

i live in that area, just up parmer toward 620 from mcneil, where the newer homes are. it is rrisd, and most likely mcneil high school, although i know of some people who went to westwood hs living in that area. neighbhorhood is great. in my area there are alot of high school aged kids, but surprisingly, it doesnt get noisy or busy. crime wise, some guy robbed the washington mutual on mcneil and parmer a few months back, and they caught him in rattan creek park a few blocks away. other than that, its great.

We are leaning to the Oak Knoll area. The houses that are on the less expensive side of things have weird floor plans or are less updated, but we do like the neighborhood. I just wish there were more parks.
