Huge game for LaMarcus

in leading Blazers to a win over the Lakers.
Logged 43 min, went 9-18 from the floor, + 4-5 FT's = 22 pts. Most impressive, however, was his 16 boards (maybe a season-high for him). Also chipped in one assist and one blocked shot and only had one turnover.16 boards

I don't think I ever anticipated the day when there would be so many Horns in the league with the kinds of productivity and potential we're seeing now. As many have already said, here's another big thank you to Rick Barnes for what he's done with the program.

Agreed. Coach Penders brought in some talent, but for some reason or another never developed any of it.

Aldridge is gonna be a guy who is in the All-Star game every year before it is all said and done. He has the size and athleticism along with the natural ability and is developing a very good shot. He also wants the rebounds and desire is big when it comes to getting boards.

I now log onto ESPN every morning to check the NBA box scores for LaMarcus, Durant, Gibson, and TJ. It is awsome to see the numbers they are continually putting up.

Pretty sure Barnes brought in Lamarcus. How stupid do the Bulls feel for that draft day trade swap for the LSU forward. Everyone got fascinated with him and his dunks in the tourney but I knew Lamarcus would be the better Nba player.

The same Tyrus Thomas that has been sitting the bench for one of the worst teams in the NBA.

They dont have anyone on the roster with an upside like LaMarcus.

My first impulse is to say Hobbes is overreaching a bit, but I hope it's so. Last night lends credence to the assertion:

40 min: 24 pts (11-21 FG's; 2-2 FT's); 15 rebounds (5 Off); 3 steals; 3 blocked shots and only 2 TO's in a loss.

Maybe one key to LA's development will be how well he and GO are able to mesh. If they can complement one another well, good chemistry might produce a synergism that does translate into all-star appearances for LA. At any rate, he has already reached a level of productivity in the league that few Horns have matched.

Also the same Bulls team that passed on TJ to pick up Heinrich(sp?). I have lived in Chicago for the last 6 years and am so pissed at them as it would have given me a lot opportunities to watch former Horns play.

They are paying for it now.

Penders brought 2 McD AAs. Penders never prepared talent to succeed in the NBA because of the bizarre system he employed. It made for exciting college games and allowed us the opportunity to occasionally upset better teams when we were shooting lights out, but it in no way prepared his players for the NBA game.

I went to the Blazers/Mavs game tonight. Another solid game for LA - 22pts 5rebs and a game-saving momentum killing block of Jet Terry.

This was the 5th Blazers game I saw live this year and LA's improvement has been remarkable. So much more confident in his midrange game and defending the paint on D. He should get the Most Improved Award. The Blazers' high low post game next year will be rediculous.

Also, sadly, as a Mavs fan, I had to watch complete offensive ineptitude down the stretch. The goto play is still isolate Dirk and hope....grrr
