2-0 over Mexico in Columbus. Bradley's kid with both goals. Barring a total collape USA should easily finish in top 3 of group and automatically qualify.

Great win. A few thoughts:

This was a fascinating game in terms of style. In many ways it was the opposite of what we see out of these teams with the USA being aggressive and Mexico using the effective counter. Whether that was due to their injuries or not I dont know.

The USA played wonderful ball right up until about 7-8 minutes once Mexico was down a man...We seemed to slow down and lose focus.

GREAT game for Bradley...and not just because of the goals.

Not so good game for Gooch. He is usually very good against Mexico but really seemed to struggle tonight.

LMAO at Pardo for holding up the water bottle to the ref. I don't think I even need to explain why this is hilariously funny.

Question for my fellow soccer fans...What is the thinking behind substitutions in the last 10 minutes? I've never understand the advantage of leaving tired guys out there and then bringing on fresh legs at a time when they probably can't even mentally get into the game and in the flow. Bradley is a huge fan of doing this and we saw it tonight with Rico and Jozy. I thought for sure we'd see someone come in for Frankie after he was injured but nope.

That video is ridiculous... Frankie turns to walk passed him and gets slapped. It is unbelievable to watch Mexico's attitude and antics when the play the US.
I guess I would rather have Frankie get slapped after the game if the US can keep slapping Mexico on the pitch.
What could happen to the assistant? Does FIFA even give this a look at all?

I wrote something and then my 3rd World internet connection crapped out as I was sending it.

1) Can't watch the video because it's not available in Argentina, but... Univision was saying that the Mexican Federation and CONCACAF should suspend this guy.

2) ON ANOTHER NOTE:

Landon Donovan's heading is awesome.

31' Laid off a 40 yard cross field pass to an onrushing Dempsey who almost scored.

43' Read Beasley's overshoot of the goal mouth and headed a beauty back to Gooch that was headed on goal, stopped, and then put in by Bradley.

I'd love to see Cooper work with the people who've been helping Donovan.

I was surprised Salcido wasn't carded for his takedown of Jozy on the buildup that led to Bradley's second goal. It was a pretty serious challenge, from behind, and it looked like he wasn't playing the ball at all. It was an obvious advantage situation, but he should have been carded after the fact.

I was also surprised that did not draw a red. There was no way he was going after the ball...He went straight into Jozy's ankles.

Mexico has a serious problem...Before the USA was bigger and more physical while Mexico had more technical skill. I still give the technical skill advantage to Mexico...but as these young generations for the USA continue to develop not only are they big and strong but they are also becoming more technical and creative.
