HS graduation gift ideas

I'm going to need to buy gifts for about 10 high school seniors and could use some advice as to what kids like. Most of them are boys and I think all of them will be attending college. Thanks.

you're supposed to give cash i think. that's how it was when i graduated, everyone just gave me cash, and it made me much happier than anything else would have.

Gift cards are a possibility, but I'd prefer not to give cash...because I figure they'll just blow it on something useless. That's why I thought it would be better to give them something they could actually use in college. Like something they might not think of themselves, but would be glad they had it when they got to school.

I got some gift cards for my graduation. That seems to be the best thing.

Yeah i mean if you give them a $20 gift card to Linen's and Things they'll use that $20 to buy some towels or something and will blow $20 of their own on beer or whatever.

If you give them $20 cash, then they blow that on beer and they spend $20 of their own on towels or something.

Same damn outcome.

i got things like a toaster, iron, silverware, etc. those things come in real handy.

A USB jump drive for file transportation at school would work

I also dig the idea of an atomic clock alarm clock with ceiling projection - I use one at home and it's nice being able to know what time it is without having to grab the glasses.

I got plenty of cash for graduation (which was used to buy a computer), but I also got way too many non disposable pens (how many cross pen and pencil sets can you use?), and a few desk clocks.

The only thing i still have from my high school graduation is a laundry bag with my initials on it. it has been one of the most useful graduation gifts i got from either high school or college. i still use it.

oh and every cash gift i got i spent on beer.

I always buy college bound folks a huge, very nice towel set. I got about 4 of them for my graduation, and they lasted me through 6 years of college and many, many years more.

I also got 3 beer coolers which were put to good use.
