I took 10 days off while the kids were out of school and wife was off.

Mon-Hiking the Barton Creek Greenbelt, Sculpture Falls, Twin Falls, etc.

Tues- Enchanted Rock and shopping in Fredricksburg

Wed-San Antonio, Witte Musuem for The Human Body Exhibit
(real human bodies that have been cut open, plasticized)

Thurs-Houston Museum of Fine Arts for Pompeii Exhibit, Livestock Show and Rodeo at Reliant Stadium

Friday- UT Baseball vs Kansas, (UT won!)

What did you do?

Exhibit at the Witte was great. My nine year old son couldnt look at some of the bodies. He kept putting his hands over his eyes. After a while he let me explain and point out the different body parts to him. He ended up thinking it was "pretty cool". The Pompeii exhibit in Houston was a suprise, we were driving by the museum and saw the banners, so we stopped. They had the plaster casts of the bodies, lots of artifacts, etc.

Curious... were the bodies in that exhibit primarily Chinese bodies? If so, there was a very interesting report on 20/20 or Dateline re: the origin of those bodies.

I saw that body exhibit when it was in Houston and left with the impression that the German fellow behind this thing is a little off, to put it mildly.

left Houston on Wed. at 6:30 am to go to Fiesta Texas. Took about 11/2 to get into Fiesta Texas parking lot from freeway exit (less than a mile, I think), so needless to say, lots of people there.

Had to pay for a gold flash pass to ensure we'd get to ride everything. We did and had a blast.

Thur - Spent the day at Enchanted Rock, hiked the loop trail and went up the Rock. ate a picnic at noon. beautiful weather. went to Fredricksburg late afternoon and ate dinner at Hondo's. awesome queso with chili

Fri - Guadalupe state park till 2 pm then drove over to Lockhart for Smitty BBQ and then on the road to H-town.

Had a blast for a short trip and my kids loved it. Even though the river was cold, my boys were all in it on Friday.

I went to New York- a friend of mine moved there last year. It was great to see the city from an insider's view rather than a tourist view. Drank a lot of great beer and ate a lot of great food!

Had the flu.

And yes I got a flu shot - this is the strain that is not covered apparently.
