First, go to the Fantasy Island white tent in the southwest corner of the west parking lot. Ask some of the tailgaters there until you find where the guy is there who often sells extras.
If he doesn't have any, then find other individuals outside the stadium who are selling their extras.
There were a number of people looking for tickets on Saturday, and the stadium was pretty packed, but there were empty seats in various places (including in Section 10 where I sit). I doubt anybody didn't get in for the lack of tickets -- or had to buy tickets at outrageous prices.
Get to the stadium a couple of hours in advance, and you shouldn't have much trouble finding tickets. Just be persistent in wanting your price and you should be successful.
Just don't buy from the professional scalpers (who sat in their vehicles along the curb outside the Disch ticket office last week asking every purchaser when they left the window if they had any extra tickets).
Right before game time a buddy walked around to some scalpers looking for a single. The first guy he asked offered him a ticket in the lower section, behind home, for $80. He laughed at that guy, and found a man with an extra that he bought for face value, and it was still a good ticket.
Just look for actual fans who are selling extras, there always are some, especially around the tailgate parties.
Look for fans.
I went with mom and dad.
We bought a pair together, had a single for today given to us, and three more for tomorrow given to us for free.
Took all of twenty minutes.
took my 5 year old son and got 2 reserved tickets, third base side, row 10 for $40 each. now i got my tickets at 505pm after waiting for 45min. they were going anywhere from 100-150 each around 4pm. ridiculous. luckily it was a game my son wont soon forget.
