How to get XP instead of Vista

I have been given the task of getting the laptop for my church's new pastor. She wants Windows XP instead of Vista. Are there any pitfalls to watch out for? Will I need to install it myself? I was planning on getting a Dell.

The Latitude is part of Dell's business line. It is a fine machine but it is built to be flexible and easily serviced, which is great when you are running multiple units within an environment. That said the XPS and the Inspiron are built out for home use. This means there a little more robust of a system.

Do what you want but they market for different audiences for a reason.

Latitudes are made better. That's why I recommended one. It's for a pastor, so I doubt they need top of the line everything. A good processor and plenty of ram will do the job just fine.

Look to purchase under the Small Business section, for most machines you can still get XP instead of Vista. For some reason they force you into Vista if you buy as a Home user.

I bought a Dell for home use about 6 months ago. It came with Vista, and started screwing up immediately, so I returned it and they sent a new one with XP. I think you just have to ask.
