How to get rid of large broken TV?

I have a 10-year-old Toshiba 50' Rear projection TV (CRT type) which recently broke. It probably can be fixed but I don't want to bother.
What is the best way to get rid of it? it is about 200lbs and not easy to move around. Anyone know someone would come to my house and pick it up for free?

Put it where you normally put your garbage on pick up day. Someone will come by and pick it up.

Are you talking about getting rid of it and giving it to someone else who could repair it for themselves, or the actual physical moving of said large television set?

For the latter I suggest a team of 2-3 people and a large blanket.

I had a similar problem except the tv worked ok but the screen had a long crack. I took it out by the curb on bulk trash week and it was gone in a few hours.
