How to cut 'pseudo-marble?'

I have an 80's-era sink in my 1/2 bath and I need to shave about 1/4 inch off the side of the backsplash. It isn't really marble, but similar and way cheaper. There is actually a curling iron or cigarette brown spot on the sink. Can this cut be made with a jigsaw and if so, what type of blade?

Thanks in advance,

Actually, I was able to cut it with a jigsaw blade, in particular DeWalt DW3720H. Worked like a charm, but then again, I only had to cut like 4 inches.
