How much does it cost to install central A/C?

i'm looking at a house here in LA that has no central ac, only window units. so what's a ballpark estimate on a 1500 sq foot house with no ducts to speak of.

I was going to check with a friend in Houston who does AC work, but since IKE his phone keeps going to VM.

Is there any kind of heating system that uses ductwork in the house? If there is existing ductwork, that would reduce the cost.

for 1500 sqft-- 3-4 ton ---$4-5k --maybe a little more if there isn't any ductwork and it requires extra work
