can Texas give up a number one seed? Through the years, too many for me to even remember. I guess I should be used to it by now, but how disappointing.

What years do you remember where we choked away a #1 seed in the past?

Last year is the only one I can think of, and that was way to early to think we actually had a #1 seed at that point.

If Texas wins out, they still have a decent shot at a #1 seed, amazingly enough. No way you can give it to Kansas over Texas if they tie for the B12 regular season and lose twice to Texas. But with BYU in the mix now, they need a little more help from either BYU losing in the MWC Tourney, Duke losing a couple of times (UNC, ACC Tourney), or Pitt losing a few times. Ohio State is probably set in stone barring a big collapse.

I too would like the 1 seed but you still have to win 6 games no matter where you come from in the brackets. A 2 or 3 seed, given the year in hoops, is about even and everybody is choking lately at some point or another. Play like we are now and we bounce early on and it won't matter. Learn from mistakes, get things together and have some focusness, we can win 6 games in the Big Dance. We shall see.

It's probably best we aren't going to be a top seed. It would suck to be the first 1 seed in history to lose in the first round after blowing a 30 point halftime lead to The Little Sisters of the Poor Community College.

If I was betting, though, it would be on Self's ability to have his team ready for a full 40 minutes ... cannot say the same about Barnes.
